Synopsis
Sandhya(Sonali Kulkarni) is the only daughter of big shot who always controls her life and schedules her activities. When she finds out he has planned to get her married with an US immigrant, she decides to run away from her family to Madras. Due to some unfortunate events, Sandhya loses her money because of a young photographer (Vineeth) and now she is stuck with him until he repays her cash. As the story unfolds, her family finds her in Madras and love blossoms between the two.Actors

Gunvantrao Kagalkar aka 'Guna' (Atul Kulkarni), a poor village labourer, nurtures an obsession for Tamasha - a popular theatrical folk art form of Maharashtra. Unforeseen circumstances lead him to lose his job as labourer and lands him in situation where he sets up a theatre company along with his friend and mentor Pandba (Kishor Kadam). Guna is convinced that his troupe cannot take off unless it has a female dancer. Kuttan Thampuran (Manoj K Jayan) is the son of Subhadra Thampurati and Kochanyian Thampuran of the Maangaattu kovilkkam. Kuttan has suffered from epilepsy from childhood and is rough and violent in his character and is feared by all in the village. Haridas (Vineeth) is his classmate despite being two years younger and develops a special bond with Thampuran from childhood. Haridas always accompanies Kuttan and carries iron keys to assist Kuttan in case the seizure develops. Both Hari and Kuttan grow up to be unsuccessful in their respective lives and Hari is criticized for this by his father Bagavathar who is a well known classical singer, but has not been financially successful. Hari had a liking for music, but Bagavathar discourages him from music and persuades him into a professional degree course. Kuttan meanwhile had frequent seizures from Epilepsy and is a nuisance in both home and village, despite seeking various medical treatments.

J.K. Balaganapathy (Sivakumar), popularly known as JKB, is a gifted carnatic musician but his wife Bhairavi (Sulakshana), despite her love and loyalty, fails to satisfy or challenge him intellectually. For JKB, this, and her inability to have children, is a problem. Gajapathi (Janagaraj) works for JKB as a tambura musician, and he is a compulsive liar. The film starts with an introduction of all characters of the film followed by JKB going to a concert where he finds Gurumoorthy (Delhi Ganesh), who works for JKB as a Mridangam musician, drunk. He instructs Gurumoorthy to leave the premises and performs in the concert without the use of Mridangam which is considered a basic/compulsory instrument to perform a carnatic concert. When Gurumoorthy is asked to permanently leave the band, he promises not to drink again. While Bhairavi's grandfather is going to receive his pension, which he does on the first of every month, Gajapathi lies to him that his pension has been cancelled. The old man starts crying and JKB intervenes to confirm that his pension is not canceled and that he can go and collect it. JKB then scolds Gajapathi for it and tells him the old man could have died on hearing such a lies, as he is very particular about his pension. Following this, when JKB finds out that Gajapathi has lied to him too and others causing problems he asks him to promise to speak the truth.

Hari (Vineeth), a village boy and a student is the central character of the movie. He is in love with the character played by Navya Nair. Raj Jaiswal (Arjun Rampal) is the TV host of his own talk show, British Raj and a notorious womanizer. Shivani's doctor wants to kill her as she has witnessed an illegal operation where a kidney was removed and the doctor wants to save himself. Shivani finally admits that she has fallen in love with Raj, but Inspector Smith is on his trail and finally finds out what happened to Shivani's body - and also discovers the doctor's organ trafficking. Soon afterwards, Shivani awakens from her coma and doesn't remember Raj or the time she has spent with him as a ghost at all. Raj, disappointed, leaves her at the hospital and decides to get to know her anew: he finds her at a restaurant and introduces himself.

Teja (Kalabhavan Mani) is a high-profile gangster in North Madras, who often imitates the behaviour characteristic of different animals for sarcastic effect. Accompanied by his gang, he arrives at a magistrate's court for a hearing. His animal antics are mocked at by "Chintai" Jeeva, another accused. Teja and his gang retaliate and kill Jeeva within the court premises. Jeeva was a member of a rival gang headed by Gemini (Vikram), an aspiring goon from Chintadripet who aspires to dethrone Teja and take his place. To avenge Jeeva's death, Gemini hunts down the murderer Pandian while Isaac, one of Gemini's men, kills him. This incident leads to a feud between Gemini and Teja, and a fight for supremacy ensues. Pandian's mother Annamma (Manorama), a destitute woman, locates the whereabouts of her son's murderers. She approaches Gemini, becomes the gang's cook and awaits a chance to poison them.
