Michael Madhana Kama Rajan is a 1990 Tamil comedy film directed by Singeetam Srinivasa Rao and written by Kamal Haasan, with Crazy Mohan penning the dialogues.

The film also feature large ensemble cast alongside Kamal Haasan, Urvashi, Rupini, Kushboo played the female leads, while Manorama, Delhi Ganesh, Nassar, Venniradai Moorthy, SN Lakshmi, Jayabharathi, R. N. Jayagopal, Nagesh, Praveen Kumar and Santhana Bharathi playing other significant role. The film was a blockbuster and completed 175-day run at the box office.

The film tells a story of quadruplets, Michael, Madhanagopal, Kameshwaran, and Raju, all played by Kamal Haasan. Kamal distinguished each of those characters with his body language and language lingo. Michael has a husky voice and an aggressive demeanor, Madan has a British accent with a sophisticated upper-class personality, Kameshwaran speaks Palakkad Tamil and has a naive, childish personality while Raju speaks Madras Tamil and has an outgoing, cheerful personality; all in keeping with their diverse upbringing as per the plot. The film's climax scene is said to be inspired from the Charlie Chaplin movie, The Gold Rush. It was dubbed in Telugu as Michael Madana Kama Raju.

Synopsis

A rich industrialist, Venugopal(R.N. Krishna) marries a woman, Sushila(Jayabharathi) and they have quadruplets. His brother, Nandagopal(R.N. Jayagopal) tries to have her and the newborns killed by hired goons. However, the leader of the goons, (Santhana Bharathi), having no desire to kill the babies, adopts one (Michael), drops one in an orphanage (Raju), one in a temple (Kameshwaran) who is picked by Palakkad Mani Iyer (Delhi Ganesh), and one (Madhanagopal a.k.a Madhan) in a car that belongs to the babies' biological father.

Sethupathy (Kamal Haasan) is an honest and upright police officer. When he arrests four bigwigs Dharmaraj (Nagesh), Francis Anbarasu (Delhi Ganesh), Nallasivam (Nasser) and Satyamoorthy (Jaishankar), they escape justice easily and return to take revenge. They kill him and poison his wife (Srividya). She escapes and gives birth to twins with the help of another woman Muniyamma (Manorama) but the babies are separated and each woman believes that the other is dead because of the events happening next to birth. One of the twins, Raja (Kamal Haasan) grows up as a mechanic with Muniyamma, while the other twin, Appu (Kamal Haasan), a dwarf, grows up in the circus with his mother.

The child takes a fancy to Avinasi and wants him to be the man in their life, and gets him to agree.Ahalaya wants either Rao’s or Mehta'a money which Avinasi is holding, whereas Avinasi is in love and wants to be that protective person. Rao appoints Mehta to handle the ransom and what follows is a series of mix-ups.

The story is about three different women who work at a fashion export company. Prabhu acting in duel role in the film. The story revolves around a professor named Professor Chandramouli (Prabhu Ganesan) experimented on transferring body soul from one body to another. Professor Chandramouli is married to Janaki (Kushboo). He got help from a student Aravind (Prabhu Ganesan) who is a bright student and a star in the school. The story flows when the two souls of professor and Aravind transferred and it makes uncomfortable to both parties and their girls. Meanwhile, a wealthy girl-abuser Baba (Nizhalgal Ravi) took professor's favorite student and sold her to a gang. However, soul changed professor and Aravind came to rescue her, where Baba flee from the police. Baba came to know about the miracle medicine that produced by professor to change souls and when soul changed professor and Aravind came to correct their souls at a cemetery. Professor gets chaged, but Aravind's soul went on to a cat. Baba came quickly and hit professor and Baba changed his soul to Aravind's body. Cat with Aravind's soul put into a nearby well and he flee with the miracle medicine. The new Aravind behave very differently and engaged in many bad activities. Finally, professor get to know about the change that happened. He finally found the miracle medicine which was hidden in the worshipped anthill. At last after series of events, Aravind's soul released from cat and Baba's soul trapped within a chicken. In between these scences, there are some comedy scenes between Josiyar (Goundamani), who is married to two wives and his friend Senthil. , which is a very shortened version of the (Madhu +2) stage play which is written by Crazy Mohan who also wrote this story .

Prabhu, hailing from an orthodox Brahmin community gets a job with Calcutta Constructions as supervisor. Calcutta Company has been in efforts to restructure their land by vacating an illegal colony lying adjacent to its premises. Popularly known as Vietnam Colony, it is inhabited by mainly daily labourers. The company has been in efforts to demolish the colony for long time, but failed to do so. The colony is now under the rule a few hardcore criminals to whom the residents have to pay specific amount every week. Now, Prabhu is appointed by company to evacuate the colony, by dealing with these criminals. He is assisted by Goundamani. Both arrive in the colony under the disguise of professional writers who are planning to write a story on the life of colony residents. Upon arrival, both enter the house of Manorama in search of a house, but she mistakes them to have come to see her daughter Vineetha and calls Unni to bring tea and snacks. But after knowing about the goof happened, she lets them stay on the top floor of her house. Upon the advice of the House broker, Manorama believes that with time, her daughter might fall in love with Prabhu and might get married to this educated Brahmin guy. In the coming days, Prabhu befriends with various members of the colony and tries to read out their idea about vacating the colony. But he realizes that it is not an easy task to evacuate the people and thinks about different plans to be operated. From Manorama, Prabhu comes to know that the entire colony was owned by Nassar, a millionaire, who even gave up his mom for money. What happens next is rest of story.
