Synopsis
Miranda (Serena Grandi) is an innkeeper living in a small Po Valley town of the late 1940s. She is left a widow after her husband is lost in World War II but she has been denying marriage, waiting (at least verbally) for her husband's return. Her lover is the transporter Berto (Andrea Occhipinti), but while Berto is away, she also runs affairs with other men, namely Carlo (Franco Interlenghi), an older and rich former fascist who buys expensive presents to Miranda and Norman (Andy J. Forest), an American engineer who works in the environs of the town. Meanwhile, Tony (Franco Branciaroli), an employee at the inn also has a deep interest in Miranda but she always insists on keeping him at bay.Actors

Lola (Anna Ammirati) is the teenage daughter of widow Zaira (Serena Grandi) living in a small Po Valley town (filming location is the comuni of Pomponesco and Dosolo) in the 1950s. She is engaged with young Masetto (Max Parodi credited as Mario Parodi), soon to get married but she is very much intrigued by sex, further provoked by the antics of her libertine stepfather André (Patrick Mower). In London, the beautiful Venetian Carla Burin (Yuliya Mayarchuk) is an intern at the front desk of an hotel. She is looking for an apartment to allow her boyfriend Matteo (Jarno Berardi) to join her there. The real estate agent, Moira (Francesca Nunzi), a bisexual, rents her a loft with a view of the Thames, with "intimate conditions." When the hot-tempered, jealous Matteo finds a nude picture of Carla and letters from her former French ex-lover Bernard (Mauro Lorenz), Carla and Matteo have a row on the telephone. Angry at Mateo, Carla sleeps with Moira. Matteo, desperate, comes to London, where he finds Moira naked in Carla's apartment. He confronts Carla about all her past infidelities and refuses her invitation to perform fellatio on him before leaving. After a walk in the park, where he sees lots of sexual activity, he changes his mind. Carla shows up with a written account of her infidelities, but Matteo declares he no longer needs to know.

Dodò (Francesco Casale) is a Roman university lecturer who is of ripe age and prominent standing but his life is still under the mandate of his father Alberto (Franco Branciaroli), a retired professor and mature womaniser currently bedridden due to a fracture and living with his nurse Fausta (Cristina Garavaglia).
