Mr. Cohen Takes a Walk (1936), also known as Father Takes a Walk, is a British comedy film directed by William Beaudine, starring Paul Graetz, Violet Farebrother, and Chili Bouchier, and based on a novel by Mary Roberts Rinehart. This was one of many "quota quickies" produced by Warner Bros. in the UK.

Synopsis

Jake Cohen, the owner of a department store (Graetz), goes on the road, and leaves it under the control of his children, only to have to return when they fight with each other on the eve of a worker's strike.

Mom and Dad tells the story of Joan Blake (June Carlson), a young girl who falls for the pilot Jack Griffin (Bob Lowell). After being sweet talked by Griffin, she has sex with him. The girl requests "hygiene books" from her mother Sarah Blake (Lois Austin); however, the mother refuses because the girl is not yet married. The girl later learns from her father Dan Blake (George Eldredge) that the pilot has died in a crash. She tears up a letter she had been writing to him, and lowers her head as the film fades into intermission.

Mr. Grimes and his wife operate a dismal "baby farm" near an alligator-infested swamp.
