It was produced in commemoration of Fuji Television's 50th anniversary. The film was nominated for the award for Excellent Animation of the Year at the 33rd Japan Academy Prize.
Synopsis
After losing her mother at a young age, Haruka has treasured the hand mirror she had received from her. As she grew older, she forgot about the mirror and eventually lost it. One day, she decides to go to a local shrine and pray to Inari for the hand mirror to be returned to her. As Haruka sits by the shrine, she drops her house key under the steps. After going to retrieve it, a small fox-like creature runs by, and takes her key, and a toy airplane that had been abandoned earlier. Haruka follows the creature into the woods, but loses it at a large fractured stone. Haruka dips her hand in the small pool of strangely warm water, and is suddenly sucked into the pool, flies out of a river, and lands in a cart with the creature.Actors

In the Australian Outback, a young boy named Cody rescues and befriends a rare golden eagle named Marahute, who shows him her nest and eggs. Later on, the boy unknowingly falls into an animal trap set by Percival C. McLeach, a local poacher wanted by the Australian Rangers. When McLeach finds one of the eagle's feathers on the boy's backpack, he is instantly overcome with excitement, for he knows that catching an eagle that size would make him rich because he had caught one before, which was Marahute's mate. McLeach throws Cody's backpack to a pack of crocodiles in order to trick the Rangers into thinking that Cody was dead, and kidnaps him in his attempt to force him to reveal the whereabouts of Marahute.

L'histoire commence en 1882 à Saint-Pétersbourg, en Russie. Sacha est une jeune fille russe de l'aristocratie. Son grand-père Oloukine, qu'elle admire et aime beaucoup, est un grand explorateur qui a disparu à bord de son brise-glace, le Davaï, parti en expédition scientifique à la conquête du pôle Nord. Le tsar reproche au défunt grand-père de Sacha d'avoir perdu le Davaï, un brise-glace à la coque extrêmement résistante qu'il avait fait construire à grands frais. Il a promis une récompense d'un million de roubles à qui retrouverait le Davaï, mais les recherches menées pour retrouver le brise-glaces n'ont rien donné. Un jour, Sacha découvre par hasard un feuillet manuscrit de la main d'Oloukine indiquant qu'il n'a pas emprunté le chemin que l'on croyait pour gagner le pôle nord : il n'est pas passé par l'est mais par l'ouest. Le soir même, les parents de Sacha donnent un bal où est invitée la haute société pétersbourgeoise, dont le prince Tomsky, qui vient d'être nommé nouveau conseiller scientifique du tsar. Ce bal doit être le premier où Sacha sera présentée à la haute société. La jeune fille a écouté à la dérobée une conversation du prince et sait que celui-ci déteste Oloukine. Elle accepte néanmoins d'ouvrir le bal avec lui, mais, pendant et après la danse, elle tente de le convaincre que les secours n'ont pas cherché le Davaï au bon endroit. Le prince Tomsky en prend prétexte pour faire un scandale et humilier publiquement Sacha et ses parents. La famille de la jeune fille tombe alors en disgrâce.

Ten-year-old Chihiro Ogino and her parents are traveling to their new home when her father takes a wrong turn.
