Synopsis
Maria is a widow with a dependent child, in debt with her landlord, and she tries to get by on small tailoring jobs. One day she receives a visit from a neighbor, a prostitute. Praising the beauty of Maria, and understanding her economic difficulties, the prostitute suggests her to attempt the same profession, in her view the only way for a single woman to find the money to live.Actors

Giuseppe (Massimo Girotti), an ex-convict meets with a village priest Don Peppino (Aldo Fabrizi) with a letter requesting that he is given a job but the man happens to be so ill that he cannot help him. Over time, starving and in a desperate state, Giuseppe steals a hundred lira from the church and flees in the robes of the cleric. Outside he is confronted by police officer who, in mistaking him for the village priest requests that he comes to the aid of a local rich landlord whose farmers are on strike and threaten to take over the land. If he is able to settle the conflict then as an award the church will be granted a large sum of money to revamp the old church. Imposing as the priest Don Peppino, Giuseppe decides to see if he can squander the money by fulfilling the task.

Le conducteur de tramway Cesare Mancini, Romain transféré à Bologne depuis vingt ans, est un très bon homme avec un vilain défaut: il ne sait pas toujours rentrer sa colère. Les membres de la famille de Cesare ont même l’habitude de s’exprimer en patois bolonais, sans qu’il arrive à comprendre un mot malgré les vingt ans passés dans la ville émilienne.

While driving his Dual-Ghia from Las Vegas to Los Angeles, lecherous, heavy-drinking pop singer Dino (Dean Martin) is forced to detour through Climax, Nevada. There he meets the amateur songwriting team of Barney Millsap (Cliff Osmond), a gas station attendant, and piano teacher Orville J. Spooner (Ray Walston), a man easily given to jealousy. Le chef comptable de la banque fluviale venant de mourir subitement, il est remplacé par Paolo Robotti qui était jusqu'à ce jour caissier principal. Par excès de zèle Paolo passe la nuit à vérifier tous les livres de comptes et annonce au directeur un énorme trou dans le bilan financier. Le directeur essaie de le faire taire mais en vain. Il prévient alors l'intrigante Madame Pfiffer. Celle-ci se rend chez Paolo et tente de le soudoyer. Mais Renato reste inflexible, cependant elle lui laisse un faux livre de Marco Polo contenant un million de lires. Outré Paolo proteste le lendemain auprès de son directeur du fait qu'il ait été victime d'une tentative de corruption. Le directeur met le document compromettant dans son coffre et invite Paolo à s'occuper d'autre chose.
