Produced by Prasad V Potluri under the banner PVP cinema, it features Akkineni Nagarjuna and Karthi playing the male leads, the film being the latter's first straight Telugu film. Tamannaah plays the female lead. Gopi Sunder composes the film's music. Production began on 11 February 2015 at Hyderabad and principal photography began on 16 March 2015 at Chennai.

The film begins with a baby taking his first steps on a beach supported by his father. The narrator (Murali Mohan) states that, it is right for a father to support his child in his infancy, but questions whether the father should continue to hold the child's hand even after he is 24 years old. As the credits roll, a visibly angry Siddharth Siddhu Addala (Siddharth Narayan) begins verbally abusing all the fathers in the world. When queried about his disgust, he says that his father, Aravind (Prakash Raj), gives him more than what he asks for. Anjali (Soundarya) is a journalist who witnesses the murder of a senior journalist carrying crucial evidence about a mafia don. Anjali is on a mission to sue this criminal Deva, who is responsible for the murder.
