Synopsis
Divakaran (Jayaram), son of martyr Karunakaran, is well accepted in his village. He takes part in an election and becomes an MLA under the panel of the Communist party. MLA Divakaran was sorrowful about some of his party tactics. He expressed his disdain and firmly opposed a move to stage strikes involving students. He started objecting against the party misdeeds which provoked the party leaders and soon he became an outcast.Actors

Aazhakadal tells the story of Kunjumon (Kalabhavan Mani), who returns to the beach after 16 years, after serving a sentence for murdering his father Anthony Tharakan (Saikuamr). He returns and become the leader of the fishermen and fights the local seafood king Vakkachan (Vijayaraghavan) with the support of his father's old friends. He also gets love and support from his childhood friend Kochurani (Sruthi Lakshmi). In the end he finds out that Paulachan (Shammi Thilakan) was the man behind all his misery and the murder of his father. He avenges his death and rescues the fishermen.

Madhavaan Kutty (Jayaram), an ayurvedic doctor is sentenced to capital punishment for twin murders. Mathew Stephan (Nedumudi Venu), the jail superintendent, but trusts Madhavan Kutty is innocent. His appeal at Supreme Court is still at pending. Upon hearing that his sister has attempted to commit suicide, and mother (Sukumari) has fallen ill, Madhavan Kutty decides to escape. He misuses the freedom got at the residence of Mathew Stephan to escape in disguise of police uniform. Alarmed at the jail break, police searches out for him. Madhavan Kutty, reaches in a forest area, where he is attacked by Velayudhan Ashan (Thilakan), who mistakes him to an animal. Upon seeing him wounded, Velayudhan Asan takes him to his residence. Madhavan Kutty decides to stay there for the time being. In the meantime, Nandakumar (Siddique), the police inspector is assigned the charge to capture Madhavan Kutty. He is shocked to see Shobha Menon (Gauthami), his once girlfriend to be the wife of Nandakumar. Velu Asan upon realizing who Madhavan Kutty is, decides to save him. His ailing mother but dies before Madhavan Kutty could meet her. In rage he decides to attend the funeral of his mother to perform the last rites. Once the function is over, he surrenders to Nandakumar. But Velu Asan confesses to the authorities that Madhavan Kutty is innocent and in reality the two murders were committed by him in revenge for the death of his daughter. Madhavan Kutty is thus released free to join his family.

Kambilikkandam Jose (Subair), a drug baron reaches down to Kochi to meet Pattakkalil Purushothaman Pillai (Vijayaraghavan), demanding a huge hike in his commission. Popularly known as Appichai, Purushothaman Pillai is one of the largest drug dealer in south India, along with Sethumadhavan (Sai Kumar), his foster son. Appichai calls back Sethu, who is on a vacation in a cruise ship in Goa. Sethu, on his arrival back in Kochi kills Jose, with the help of Balagopal (Ramu), the IG of Police. But the death of Jose creates a strong protest inside the state and the Chief Minister (Janardhanan) orders a detailed investigation on the matter. Narendran (Mammootty), the Assistant Commissioner of police, is assigned the charge of investigation. Popularly known as Nari (tiger), for his aggressive and belligerent style of behavior, Narendran, begins his probe by questioning Dr. Ratnakumari (Urmila Unni), the assistant surgeon, who conducted the postmortem of Jose. Nari finds out marks of physical assault on his face, which was not mentioned in the report. He reaches our to the family of Jose, who, on the next day is found dead in the suburbs of the city. Sethumadhavan, who also holds an illegal business partnership with the son of the state chief minister, is one of the most influential businessman in the country. Under the pretext of Karunyadeepam, a spiritual ashram, under Rema Bai/Rema Behan (Prabha Dutt), Sethu runs a vast drug network along South India. Narendran, through his strong and sharp methods reaches out to Rema Behan, who on the next day is found dead in her sleep. On his path, Narendran finds several obstacles including the son of the CM and several senior police officers and in the end, the CM itself, who decides to withdraw Narendram from the charge of investigation. How Nari over comes the pressures and finishes off the evil forces including Sethumadhavan and brings justice at the end, forms the rest of the story.

Sooryan tells the story of Sooryanarayanan (Jayaram), who is a very popular and accomplished singer. His family comprises his mother (Kalaranjini) and his widowed sister Raji (Nandini) and her two kids. Balakrishnan (Mukesh) is a heart patient. He urgently needs a heart transplant and luckily he gets the heart of Aby Mathew (Jayaram) who was dead a few moments ago. After the operation, Balakrishnan discovers that he can see Aby Mathew while nobody else can. Aby Mathew is now a ghost and he wants to bring his killers in front of the law. He takes Balakrishnan's help and start investigating. At first, nobody is ready to believe Balakrishnan as no one believes in ghosts. Balakrishnan also takes the help of Sub Inspector Damu (Sreenivasan) who also at first does not believe him. Balakrishnan discovers that Aby Mathew was murdered by his adopted brother and confidant Alex Chandanavelil (Saikumar) to take over his business and that the lives of Aby's wife (Maathu)and mother (Kaviyoor Ponnamma) are also in danger. The rest of the plot is Balakrishnan's attempt to save them.

Small time criminal, Mahi (Mammootty) gets released from prison early. He has a reputation of beating up his rivals in the darkness. Mahi wants to help fellow inmate Balan's (Manoj K. Jayan) whose brother Satheesh (Manikuttan) is in need of money for a life saving operation. A fellow crook, Giri (Suraj Venjaramood) proposes an assignment for Mahi which will earn him enough money for the operation. Thottappally Surendran (Vijayaraghavan) plans to murder Sivasankaran Pillai (Saikumar) to settle an old score. Sivasankaran is serving life sentence for killing Surendran's father and is due to be released on short term parole. As part of a master plot, Surendran wants another man to accept the criminal charge and punishment.
