It was a remake of Tamil film My Dear Marthandan released earlier in the same year. The film was later dubbed in Hindi as Daulat Ki Duniya. This movie was inspired by Eddie Murphy's Coming to America.
Synopsis
Raja Vikramarka (Chiranjeevi) is the prince of Skanda Dweepam, a small kingdom. As he is a prince, he is not allowed to live his own free life. His father (Satyanarayana) arranges his marriage with another kingdom's princess. She turns out to be nothing more than a sycophant, one without a brain or spine of her own. He leaves the kingdom with his trusted friend, Jockie (Bramhanandam), in order to live his own life. In the modern big city, he finds a friend and works as a mechanic, during which time he saves a girl (Amala) from two attempts at her life. Her uncle (Rao Gopal Rao) hires him as her bodyguard. Rao later reveals to him that he was in fact the assassin trying to kill her for her money. In order to thwart his plot, Raja agrees to handle the murder attempts, while at the same time trying to save her. After being kicked out of the house, her uncle, along with the other villains (Gollapudi Maruthi Rao and Kota Srinivasa Rao) join forces to kill Raja and his parents. Raja saves the day and rules as king of his land.Actors

Ravi Teja (Chiranjeevi) is an industrialist, who owns a textile company. He is a successful person in business but his personal life lacks harmony and peace. Tortured by his wife Madhavi and her mother, he finds life miserable. He will slowly fall for his beautiful Personal Assistant Priyamvada Bhanupriya. Meanwhile, his opponents cannot digest his success in business and plan to stop him from getting yet another business deal. Here, he meets Nagaraju (Chiranjeevi), who is a small-time thief. Ravi Teja is saved by Nagaraju and he plans to exchange their positions, so that his problems can be solved forever. Nagaraju agrees, and teaches madhavi, her mother, and Ravi Teja's enemies a lesson. Ravi Teja faces a strange situation of leading a thief's lifestyle. He encounters Radhika, who is also a small time thief. In the end, they both reveal their true identities and end the story on a happy note.

The film starts with a shabby old man living as a recluse near a famous temple. When he ventures out into the village, he is beaten by the shepherds who believes that he is a thief. When they hand him over to the police, the officer in charge identifies him as a once-famous musician, Anantha Rama Sharma (Mammooty), hailed as Sangeeta Samrat (Emperor of music), who has been missing for four years. The inspector RadhaKrishna (Achyuth) informs his aunt (Raadhika Sarathkumar), who teaches music in his native village, of this and the past of Anantha Sharma is narrated through flashback.

Nachiappan (Nassar) is a restaurateur in Los Angeles, USA. Venkata Ramana (Daggubati Venkatesh) a.k.a Venky is a ventriloquist. An astrologer (M. S. Narayana) predicts that if he does not get married in one year, he will be a single man forever. He goes to Paris to show his talent to the company of Paris Prasad (Brahmanandam). Paris Prasad fools everyone and he was given a loan from a bank. But he has not repaid the loan to the bank. Venky befriends Sheikh Raj (Ali). Venky also falls in love with Pooja (Trisha Krishnan), the niece of Paris Prasad. Pooja has no feelings for Venky, but Paris Prasad tells Venky that Pooja too loves him and fools him. Slowly Pooja and Venky become friends. Pooja goes back to India and finds that her marriage has been arranged with Bhadrappa (Subbaraju), the son of her uncle, Changala Rayudu (Mukesh Rishi). Venky asks Paris Prasad for help. Prasad comes with Venky to save Pooja by telling him that Pooja loves him and wants to break the marriage. But Pooja loves an NRI named Rahul. There Venky introduces himself to everyone as Pranit and makes fools of them by giving the partnership of his factory's benefit. One day when Venky with Prasad and Pooja runs away, Bhaddrapa's uncle (Jaya Prakash Reddy) comes to know everything. He tells everyone this. Then Venky goes to his village along with Prasad, Rahul and Pooja. He introduces his family, his uncles, Narayana (Chandra Mohan) and Malesh Yadav (Kota Srinivasa Rao). After that Bhaddrapa's grandfather hatches a plan in which Venky will come with Pooja and they will kill him. But Venky ends up coming with his full family, so they could not kill him. But after coming here, Venky comes to know that Pooja loves Rahul. When Pooja's uncle attacks them, Venky saves everybody. Pooja realizes she loves Venky. Paris Prasad also realizes his mistake and gets Venky and Pooja married. After the marriage, Prasad asks Venky to give him money with which he can repay the bank loan. But Venky laughs after hearing this.

Sasirekha (Maheswari) is the daughter of a rich father (Jayaprakash Reddy), who is a strict disciplinarian and hates any kind of love affair. Ravi (Ravi Teja), an orphan falls in love with Sasi and she also slowly develops feelings for Ravi. One day Ravi meets Sasi’s father in the outskirts of the city and tells him all about his love. However, he is accidentally killed by Ravi in a scuffle. Sasi soon finds out that the real culprit is Ravi. Infuriated, she breaks-up with him. Ravi, unable to bear the rejection, jumps from a hill. He escapes death, only to be told by the doctors that he is disabled and might cure in future if someone takes care of him. In the climax sasi decides to stay with ravi who is nothing but a vegetable now, stating that what ever he did was just because of his love for her and she still is in love with him.

Thiruppaachi and Sengulam are neighboring villages with a history of enmity between them. Maayan (Manoj) and Machakanni (Riya Sen) meet on the day of her engagement and its love at first sight. Her marriage itself gets called off when the groom and his family insult Machakanni's family and her romance with Maayan continues. But when her brother finds out about him, all hell breaks loose. The turned-down bridegroom is still itching for revenge and figuring out that the only way to extract it is to marry Machakanni, he pleads for forgiveness and succeeds in melting her brother's heart. The marriage is finalised but Maayan's friends swear to unite the star-crossed lovers. There is also a subplot of Maayan's aunt(Radhika) trying to get her daughter married off to Maayan.
