The film stars Chiranjeevi, Nagendra Babu, Rajendra Prasad, Suhasini Mani Ratnam, and Rao Gopal Rao in important roles. The film's score and soundtrack is composed by maestro Ilaiyaraaja. It is based on Yandamuri Veerendranath's novel of the same name.
Synopsis
The film opens with a widowed woman giving birth to a baby boy. The landlord does not approve of this and has the baby disposed of. A drunkard finds the baby and keeps him for a couple of years until he sells the boy to a labor camp, in exchange for money. 20 years later, that boy Pursha (Chiranjeevi) and his friend Simham (Nagendra Babu) escape from the labor camp, to see Pursha's mother. But when Pursha goes to the landlord's house, the landlord says that Pursha's mother left a long time and for Pursha to get the details, the landlord must be bribed with Rs. 10,000 /-. Pursha and Simham sneak into somebody's house and steal the necessary Rs. 10,000. At the moment, they are caught by JK (Rao Gopal Rao). He tells them that it is alright for them to take the money for their use. By the time Pursha and Simham get to the landlord, the landlord sold the information of Pursha's mother to JK for Rs. 50,000. Pursha, angered, goes to JK for an explanation. JK wants to use Pursha to stop his rival, who sells drugs. Pursha reluctantly refuses at first but later is convinced. While Pursha, Simham, and Inspector Vijay (Rajendra Prasad) fight some bad guys, Pursha gets injured and jumps into a river. He is saved by a school teacher Sumatri (Suhasini Mani Ratnam) who is an orphan. Sumatri is the sister of Vijay. Pursha comes up with a plan to raid important documents to imprison Shailaja's (Radha) father, who is JK's rival but in the process, Vijay is killed. How Pursha gets his revenge and meets his mother forms the rest of the story.Actors

Raja (Chiranjeevi) goes to town for higher studies with the donation of people living in a tribal village. He returns to his village after the studies. He then finds the sufferings of his people and how they are cheated by local heads (Rao Gopal Rao and Mohanbabu). He then fills confidence in his men and tells them that they should face these illegal in the court of law. But this duo makes the villagers fools and Raja's attempts goes in vain. Few villagers get hurt by this act suicide as they have no other option and the blame is on Raja as he has forced them. Sametime Raja is selected for IAS but he rejects it and decides to fight against the villains and changes to a Robinhood avatar and names himself as Kondaveti Donga. He punishes the illegal and stands by the villagers thus all his folk starts admiring him. Trouble starts when the villains start doing mischief in the name of him. Vijayasanthi is an inspector comes to his place to catch hold of him. Radha her sister, working as a doctor knows his true identity and starts loving him. How this kondaveti donga punished the fraud people or is he caught by the police or what happens to him forms the rest of the story. There is also a dance routine with a Michael Jackson impersonator singing "Girly Man".

Jaani (Chiranjeevi) runs a small time restaurant/casino with his partner Bhillu (Nagendra Babu). One fine day he helps two women( Radha & Suhasini), stuck with their broken car and gives them a drive. Utpala (suhasini) succeeds in an interview, by remembering jaani's answer and gets a job as nurse in an hospital.Jaani and his partner also help Radha to get a job by blocking the competitor.One day, Naga babu discovers cocaine in an egg in his kitchen and they start investigating the source of this egg. They discover this to be from Pogaku Subbarao (Gollapudi)'s store. This unfolds the links between a seemingly businessman, gollapudi and underworld Don, Vasanta Dada (Suresh Oberoi). They also offer jobs to unemployed and use them to sell their body parts. Utpala's unemployed brother Sharma (prasad babu) gets into their trap and leaves home. Utpala reaches jaani for help to talk to her brother. Jaani discovers that the phone number given to contact her brother is in the same city and starts exploring into this. Meanwhile Radha lodges a complaint against gollapudi and his son, sudhakar about their dark secrets. Salim (Ranjeeth), a left hand of suresh oberoi, disguises himself as a police and asks radha to come with him for enquiry.When he attempts a rape, Jaani saves her and both fall in love and also start exploring Oberoi's kingdom. They discover that prasad, escaped from oberoi's den and left a letter with Utpala, explaining every activity in underworld.But Prasad, the lone witness of underworld, is killed in hospital by Salim. When Jaani and Radha attack Oberoi, they're captured and left in a desert as a prey for vultures. But using a magnifying glass, dropped by gollapudi, they free themselves and attack oberoi.

The story begins with the arrest of international share market broker Ashok Kumar (K. Ashok Kumar) who has cheated the public of ₹2000 crores, the court decides to keep him under the supervision of Chief Minister (Sarath Babu). Bose (Chiranjeevi) is a very patriotic man who fights for the rights of the local market workers against Aatma (Sharat Saxena), the nearby underworld don. Seeing his dedication for helping the working poor, the Chief Minister (Gummadi Venkateswara Rao) asks him to enter politics. As a politician, he takes charge of a special branch of commandos and destroys Aatma's illegal operations. In retaliation Aatma has Bose's sister falsely implicated in a prostitution case, after which she commits suicide on the court steps. Bose resigns from his position and takes revenge on Aatma. Finally, he returns to his old life at the market.
