Rakta Sambandham is a 1962 Telugu drama film directed by V. Madhusudan Rao.

It is remake of 1961 Tamil hit film Pasamalar. The movie was directed by A. Bhimsingh. It was film version of the Malayalam writer Kottakara's story Paasa Malar, featuring Shivaji Ganesan. The theme has strong attachment between a brother and his sister.

Synopsis

Raju (NTR) and Radha (Savitri) are Siblings and very affectionate to each other. Anand (Kanta Rao) saves Radha from an accident. They fall in love. Raju works in a factory. The factory gets shutdown for some reason. He starts his own business and becomes very successful. He plans to marry his sister to a rich man. After knowing that she loves Anand, he insults him. However, later he requests pardon and marries them. Raju also marries. Kanthamma (Suryakantham), aunt of Anand, living with them creates differences between them, resulting their separation. Radha gives birth to a boy. The wife of Raju dies after giving birth to a girl. Raju writes his entire property in the name of Radha and goes on tour. However, he returns after finding out that his real peace of mind is with his sister. He loses sight on Deepavali day while saving the son of Radha from fire accident. Finally both the siblings unite and die together.

His parents observe their son’s behavior and leave for pilgrimage, thinking that their absence will bring both wife and husband together. Gouri is very obedient though she is well educated and rich. She loves her husband very much and expects the same from him like any other wife. But her husband continues to neglect her. She even asks him the reason for rejecting her. He says that he is helpless and asks her to go to her mother’s place. She refuses to leave and continues to stay in the same house along with her husband. She prays to her favorite God daily with great devotion. God listens to her at the end and her husband accepts her as his wife and gives her all his love. The story is based on the love affair between Tara (wife of Brihaspati) and Sasank (Chandra). Tara, the wife of pious teacher Brihaspati successfully seduces his student Sasank. They had a child by their illicit union. This results in dispute between the teacher and his student about the fatherhood of the boy. It goes to the court of the Gods; who express their inability to solve the issue. Tara herself had to decide that the child was born to the student.

Saraswati Sabatham tells the story of a dispute between three goddesses over which has the best power. Narada (Sivaji Ganesan), a sage and celestial troublemaker, begins the fight by visiting Saraswati (Savitri), the Goddess of knowledge, and purposely annoys Her by saying that wealth is more important and abundant. Narada finally goes to Mount Kailas, seeking Parvati(Padmini), the goddess of power and strength and annoys Her too, saying that wealth and knowledge is more important. Lord Shiva gives a sacred fruit, brought by the sage Narada, to his elder son Vinayaka as a prize for outsmarting his younger brother Muruga in a competition to win it. Unmarried princess Kunti is blessed by the Sun god with a baby boy, which she abandons in the Ganges to avoid embarrassment. The boy is rescued and adopted by charioteer Athirathan, who names him Karnan. Years later, the now-grown up Karnan realises that Athirathan is only his adoptive father and feels heartbroken. He does not want to become a charioteer like Athirathan, and instead chooses to become a warrior. He masters archery and challenges the Pandava prince Arjuna in a contest. Karnan is insulted on account of his lowly birth, but the Kaurava prince and cousin of the Pandavas, Duryodhana, saves his pride, and gives him the kingdom of Anga. Karnan thus becomes the close friend of Duryodhana and his wife Bhanumati.
