Rebellion in Patagonia (Spanish: La Patagonia rebelde) is a 1974 Argentine drama-historical film directed by Héctor Olivera and starring Héctor Alterio, Luis Brandoni, José Soriano and Federico Luppi. It was written by Olivera with Osvaldo Bayer and Fernando Ayala, based on Osvaldo Bayer's renowned novel Los Vengadores de la Patagonia Trágica ("The Avengers of Tragic Patagonia"), which was based upon the military suppression of anarchist union movements in Santa Cruz Province in the early 1920s.
It was entered into the 24th Berlin International Film Festival, where it won the Silver Bear.

Ricardo Guglielmini is the mayor of Colonia Vela, a small countryside village in an undisclosed province of central Argentina. He plots with the local Peronist political boss, Héctor Suprino, and union leader Reinaldo to get the deputy mayor Ignacio Fuentes out of power due to his increasing popularity (which threatens Guglilemini's decade-long hold on the mayor's office), despite Fuentes being an avid peronist and having once worked under Juan Domingo Perón himself.

During a time of economic and political unrest and State-sponsored terrorism in Argentina in the mid-1970s, the students want reduced bus fares, so they take to the streets and protest in support of the boleto estudiantil: the students' ticket. At first, under Isabel Martínez de Perón's government they succeed, but their protests draw hostile attention from the ensuing military regime led by Jorge Rafael Videla, which overthrows Perón on March 24, 1976.

Casares (Federico Luppi) and Carmen (Marisa Paredes) operate a small home for orphans in a remote part of Spain during the Spanish Civil War. Helping the couple mind the orphanage are Jacinto (Eduardo Noriega), the groundskeeper, and Conchita (Irene Visedo), a teacher who is also involved with Jacinto. Pedro Bengoa, an ex-union organizing demolition worker and Bruno Di Toro, a coworker friend of his, decide to blackmail the corrupt company they work for, setting up a fake accident in a copper pit.
