Film producers are Enes Cviko and famous BAFTA Award-winning producer and actress Martine de Clermont-Tonnerre, producer of the film which won a Golden Globe and was nominated for two Oscars. The film stars Ermin Bravo, Aleksandar Seksan and Ermin Sijamija, and was written by prominent multiple award-winning Bosnian writer and screenwriter Zlatko Topčić and inspired by a true story.
Remake follows father Ahmed and son Tarik Karaga during World War II and the Siege of Sarajevo. The film premiered at prestigious International Film Festival Rotterdam on 23 January 2003, where it was the most watched movie, and was elected one of the five best films of the festival. It was released to cinemas throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina on 22 February 2003.
Synopsis
With an interval of fifty years in between, the film brings the experience of the start of the Siege of Sarajevo. Remake tells three tragic stories in one. The first is about the young Bosniak Tarik, who manages to get out of the besieged Sarajevo, where he was violently separated from his aged father. He reaches Paris in 1993, where he starts working on a film script about the life of his father Ahmed, who experienced the outbreak of the World War II in Sarajevo. Remake is however more than a war film. It is also a coming-of-age drama, with scenes in which Ahmed and Tarik (with an intervening period of fifty years) go out with their friends, have fun, fall in love.Actors

The film begins away from the coast of Korea during the Korean War. Commander Collier (Hayden) is in charge of air operations on a carrier, or 'flat top'. When asked about how he first handled his job, he goes back to the time of World War II, where the film takes place. Told in flashback form, Collier recounts the war in the Pacific, working flight ops on the same carrier with a new second officer, Lt. (j.g.) Joe Rogers (Carlson), and getting a group of pilots ready for the tough fight to come against the Japanese.

Derwin (William Hellfire) and Derick (Joey Smack) are trench-coat wearing neo-Nazis from deprived families. When Derwin is assaulted by jocks, he and Derick form a plan to kill students at their school and then commit suicide. The pair buy two shotguns and several handguns from a black market dealer. Devin Ratray is a musician and besotted admirer of Condoleezza Rice, 'Condi,' who travels across America, learning more about Rice from those who knew her. He speaks to her childhood friends in Birmingham, Alabama. In Denver, Colorado, he performs at Red Rocks, where he meets some of her former teachers, and the one man to whom Rice has been engaged, Rick Upchurch. Upchurch tells Devin that Rice made an oath to God not to have sex before she got married, and deduces that her continued single status and her enduring Christianity confirm that she is still a virgin. Ratray follows Rice's rise to Provost of Stanford University, where he discovers that, while in that position, she departed from the practice of applying affirmative action to tenure. In Los Angeles, he is given courtship advice by Adrian Grenier and cult comedian Jim Norton and is presented with a power ballad to send to Condi from Oscar nominated songwriter Carol Connors. When he arrives in Washington DC, he is assisted by Republican strategist Frank Luntz and is counseled by Newsweek editor Eleanor Clift.

In a small village named Rack-Armor Terrace in Hebei, at the foot of the Great Wall of China, a local peasant called Ma Dasan (played by Jiang Wen) is caught by surprise when a man bursts into his home one night and deposits two men in gunnysacks, instructing him at gunpoint to keep them captive but alive for the next few days and interrogate them. The man, identified only as "Me", leaves before Ma can catch a glimpse of him. One of the gunnysacks contains Kosaburo Hanaya (Kagawa Teruyuki), a belligerent Japanese sergeant; the other Dong Hanchen (Yuan Ding), an obsequious Chinese interpreter working for the Japanese Army. Ma hurriedly enlists the help of his fellow villagers. Fearing both the mysterious "Me" and the Japanese, the village decides to follow the instructions from "Me" and detains the prisoners in Ma's cellar. Hanaya repeatedly attempts to provoke the peasants into killing him, but Dong, fearing for his own life, alters Hanaya's words in translation to make him appear conciliatory.
