Salakhain (Urdu: سلاخیں) is a Lollywood film which was released in 2004. Stars included Ahmed Butt, Zara Sheikh and Meera. Music was composed by M Arshad. Sajid Hassan and Saud were cast as villains with Shafi Muhammad as their boss.
Synopsis
Salakhain is an Urdu feature film set in the backdrop of Gawalmandi, Lahore. It is the story of a young man who is passionate about life and dreams of a bright and prosperous future. The film is based on Kharotabad Incident involved the killing of five Russian and Tajik citizens at the Kharotabad check post by the Frontier Constabulary who claimed the five were terrorists. The incident was filmed by a journalist and footage was aired on media channels who reported that the five victims were in fact innocent citizens. The chief justice of Pakistan at that time took sou moto notice of the incident and a commission was asked to prepare the Kharotabad Inquiry Report, the findings of which have never been made public with the case remaining unresolved. A key witness of the killings was murdered in Quetta in December 2011.

The story is about a young Indian Sikh girl Preety played by Zara Sheikh, who goes to the historical city of Lahore, Pakistan for pilgrimage with her father. Ali realises what he has lost and goes after her. They both are delighted to see each other but Preety's friend, who is also in Indian Army, is not able to bear Preety falling in love with a Pakistani as he wants to marry her. He sends his forces after the two lovers by claiming that they are spying for Pakistan. The couple flees and after days of hide and seek, Ali is finally able to destroy the Army cars following them. In the last scene, the lovers arrive at the Pakistan-India border where they see a Pakistani Flag and their emotions are filled with joy and relief.
