Sathruvu (English: Enemy) is a 1990 Telugu crime thriller film produced by M.S. Raju on Sumanth Art Productions banner, directed by Kodi Ramakrishna. Starring Venkatesh, Vijayashanti played the lead roles and music composed by Raj-Koti. The film was released to positive reviews and recorded as Super Hit at box-office, and has received the Filmfare Award for Best Film - Telugu and Filmfare Award for Best Director – Telugu for that year.
Synopsis
Ashok (Venkatesh) is an advocate who works as a junior along with his two friends Raghava (Maharshi Raghava) & Bhaskar for advocate Durga Prasad (Vijay Kumar) who always fights for Justice. Durga Prasad and his wife Lakshmi (Sangeetha) treat them as their own children. Venkataratnam (Kota Srinivasa Rao) is a powerful contractor who has the entire system in his hands. Once Venkataratnam cheats Govt by saying that he has constructed a hostel for poor people without doing it, just showing on papers. Durga Prasad takes up the case and gathers all the proofs against him. Venkataratnam threatens Durga Prasad a lot who does not yield to it. Finally, Venkataratnam kills Durga Prasad and his wife Lakshmi in front of the court and destroys all the evidence. Before dying, Durga Prasad takes a word from Ashok, that he should win this case in any circumstances. Ashok gives respect to his words and takes up the case, but he fails to get the case admitted because there is no evidence. In that frustration, Ashok reacts on Venkataratnam publicly in court, which leads to his suspension from the court and he has been arrested.Actors

Ramu (Venkatesh) leads a carefree life, living along with his widowed mother in a village. He was in love with Usha (Rambha), daughter of Dharmaiah (Gollapudi Maruti Rao), village president. He often involves in petty quarrels with Bujjulu (Ali), son of Kobbarikayala Subbaiah who happens to be brother-in-law of Dharmaiah. Subbaiah was a land lord and a moneylender who often torments villagers for money and domination. He wants to marry Usha to his son to ensure power over entire village. But Ramu always comes in between and he decides to get rid of him by involving him in a thievery case. But Ramu manages to prove the truth and sends Subbaiah to jail.

Sriram (Venkatesh) and Seeta (Soundarya) have no children even after three years of marriage life. Sriram comes to know through the doctor that his wife cannot bear children, he is not willing to hurt his wife's feelings, he takes the blame on himself. Sriram's father (Kota Srinivasa Rao) is very fond of children so he always blackmails Sriram to make the second marriage. While on a business tour to Nepal, he marries a Nepali girl Manisha (Vineetha) under some unavoidable circumstances. When he comes to know that she is carrying his child, Sriram arranges for her stay at his friend Giri's (Brahmanandam) house. Manisha delivers a boy and Sriram adopts him with his wife's consent who is not aware of the truth. After some years Sriram's father comes to know truth through Giri, he wants Sriram to get back Manisha and make a clean of things to Seeta. But Sriram who is apprehensive of his Seeta's reaction begs his father to keep the whole affair under wraps and he brings Manisha as a cook to his house. The story takes a turn to climax when Seeta is not happy with the goings on in the kitchen, she tries to get Manisha married off to someone else, then Sriram reveals the secret, Seeta also understands situations and circumstances and she happily welcomes Manisha into their lives. Finally, the movie ends on a happy note of two wives live happily with one husband.

Venkata Ramana (Daggubati Venkatesh) a.k.a Venky is a ventriloquist. An astrologer (M. S. Narayana) predicts that if he does not get married in one year, he will be a single man forever. He goes to Paris to show his talent to the company of Paris Prasad (Brahmanandam). Paris Prasad fools everyone and he was given a loan from a bank. But he has not repaid the loan to the bank. Venky befriends Sheikh Raj (Ali). Venky also falls in love with Pooja (Trisha Krishnan), the niece of Paris Prasad. Pooja has no feelings for Venky, but Paris Prasad tells Venky that Pooja too loves him and fools him. Slowly Pooja and Venky become friends. Pooja goes back to India and finds that her marriage has been arranged with Bhadrappa (Subbaraju), the son of her uncle, Changala Rayudu (Mukesh Rishi). Venky asks Paris Prasad for help. Prasad comes with Venky to save Pooja by telling him that Pooja loves him and wants to break the marriage. But Pooja loves an NRI named Rahul. There Venky introduces himself to everyone as Pranit and makes fools of them by giving the partnership of his factory's benefit. One day when Venky with Prasad and Pooja runs away, Bhaddrapa's uncle (Jaya Prakash Reddy) comes to know everything. He tells everyone this. Then Venky goes to his village along with Prasad, Rahul and Pooja. He introduces his family, his uncles, Narayana (Chandra Mohan) and Malesh Yadav (Kota Srinivasa Rao). After that Bhaddrapa's grandfather hatches a plan in which Venky will come with Pooja and they will kill him. But Venky ends up coming with his full family, so they could not kill him. But after coming here, Venky comes to know that Pooja loves Rahul. When Pooja's uncle attacks them, Venky saves everybody. Pooja realizes she loves Venky. Paris Prasad also realizes his mistake and gets Venky and Pooja married. After the marriage, Prasad asks Venky to give him money with which he can repay the bank loan. But Venky laughs after hearing this.

Malliswari (Katrina Kaif) is the heiress of Raja of Mirzapur (M. Balaiah). Her deceased father wrote in his will that she would inherit the property worth 750 crores after she becomes major at the age of 21. The entire property is under the ca re-taking of Bhavani Shankar (Kota Srinivasa Rao), who wants to inherit the entire property by killing her. As he hatches the plans to eliminate Malliswari, she is sent to Visakhapatnam to a relative's place as a normal girl so that she can live with anonymity. Prasad (Venkatesh) works as bank accountant in Andhra Bank there. He is a bachelor who has been desperately seeking for marriage alliance for the past seven years. He would be looking at every unmarried girl with dreams in his eyes. He accidentally meets Malliswari and falls deeply in love with her. Malliswari is traced by the goons there and they start running after her. Prasad escorts her and drops her safely in Hyderabad. The rest of the story describes what happens next and the eventual conclusion of the plot.
