Simhadriya Simha (Kannada: ಸಿಂಹಾದ್ರಿಯ ಸಿಂಹ) is a 2002 blockbuster Indian Kannada action family drama directed by S. Narayan. The film starred Dr.Vishnuvardhan, Meena and Bhanupriya in lead roles. The music of the film was composed by Deva. The film was a remake of the 1994 Tamil film Nattamai which starred Sarath Kumar and Kushboo in lead roles, but Simhadriya Simha became more successful than the original.

Shabdavedi is about Sandeep Rajkumar, a strict police officer crusading against narcotics. Sathya has come up in life the hard way as he lost his mother when he was a small boy and his father was framed and arrested on criminal charges. Sathya, unaware of his father's innocence, takes custody of his five young sisters. Sathya's father Bhadra was cheated by his brother-in-law who poisons his sister's mind to leave her husband, but she commits suicide later and her son Sathya is left with his five sisters. Sathya take care of his sisters well and educates them, but they are under his strict control and any person who plays foul with them faces his wrath, but he finds himself in trouble because of this tough character. Meanwhile, Sathya's father is released from prison and now wants to take revenge on his brother-in-law but the latter joins hands with some villains who want to settle scores with Bhadra and his son. They hatch a plan to a create rift in Sathya's family and surprising everyone succeeds as well. Will Sathya reunite his family again, and prove his father's innocence form the climax.

The film opens with Veerapandi (Thiagarajan) returning from USA after a long gap with his wife (Bhanupriya) and 8-year-old son Jai (Junior Prashanth). Veerapandi’s late father was a well-known factionist in that area & owned a land of 4,000 acres. While leaving for USA, Veerapandi gave the responsibility of managing this land to Vajravelu (Rajan P. Dev). Now back in India, Veerapandi realises that Vajravelu is misusing his power. He wants to donate all his land to the 2000 families staying in that village. When Vajravelu comes to know of this charity giveaway, he attacks Veerapandi, killing him & his wife. Nallamuthu (Rajkiran), a trusted lieutenant of Veerapandi, takes the kid Jai and escapes to the city (Chennai). After the murders, Veerapandi’s trusted people are put in jail with a prison sentence of 14 years.

Sirivantha revolves around the concept of ideologies and being self-sufficient in life. Narayan Murthy (Vishnu) is a very kindhearted and a peace-loving person. He works as an editor for a newspaper Mitravani and believes in the ideology of helping the needy and spends half of his earnings on his family and the other half to help the needy. His family consists of his wife, two sons and a daughter. They are dead against the principles followed by their father. There is a need in the family for some urgent money as the eldest son needs to pay a bribe to get a Sub Inspector's job, the youngest son needs to get through his education and his son decides to start a business. He is forced to break all his principles and borrow money from a financier friend of his played by Doddanna. Unable to bear the defeat of his ideology, he commits suicide the very day he gives money to his children. After hearing about their father's death, the children run away with the money and hide while the society that he helped and love come in huge numbers to perform his last rights. The rest is how the financier gets his money back and how the children understand the value of life.
