Après la naissance de leur enfant, Arturo et Paloma, aidés de leur fidèles amis, s'activent pour l'élever tout en restant cachés de leurs parents. Malheureusement, ceux-ci découvrent la vérité et leur retirent l'enfant, lequel est placé dans un orphelinat dirigé par des nonnes. Le jeune couple et leurs amis s'unissent alors pour le récupérer. Ils s'infiltrent de nuit dans l'orphelinat et retrouvent le bébé, reconnaissable par une tache de naissance en forme de lune sur la jambe. Les jeunes parents prennent ensuite la fuite afin d'élever leur petit garçon en paix.

The film shows a humorous version of four episodes of Genesis: Adam and Eve, Cain and Abel, the Flood and the Tower of Babel, also Abraham appears very briefly at the end. Yolanda, a cabaret singer, brings heroin to her lover who drops dead of an overdose. To escape from the police, the singer looks for refuge in a local convent. The Mother Superior, a fan of Yolanda, rapturously greets her. The mission of the order, called the Humiliated Redeemers (Redentoras humilladas), is to offer shelter and redemption to fallen women. The convent once was a bustling haven for prostitutes, drug addicts and murderers, but it is now in disrepair. The order is facing serious financial hardships as their prime financial supporter, the vain and greedy Marchioness (La Marquesa) has decided to discontinue the convent's annuity under the pretense of economizing. She feels less affinity with the sisters than did her recently deceased husband, who set up a fund in gratitude. The convent had taken in their wayward daughter, Virginia, who subsequently became a nun and ran off to Africa, only to be eaten by cannibals.

In a city on Spain’s Costa Brava, Clara Valverde, a young beautiful woman, lives with her husband Juan. They seem to have a perfect marriage. Juan is an architect and has planned a daring urbanistic project. In reality, the project is not viable.
