Synopsis
Revenant d’un mariage au Canada, cinq amis à bord d'un 4x4 rentrent aux États-Unis, lorsqu'ils se font arrêter en pleine forêt par deux douaniers de la police des Frontières. Alors qu’ils n’ont rien à se reprocher, les policiers trouvent un sachet de marijuana dans un de leurs bagages, ils les accusent alors de terrorisme, les arrêtent et leur font subir des interrogatoires brutaux. Les cinq amis restant silencieux, les douaniers, qui s'avèrent être d'anciens militaires ayant servi en Irak mais aussi au camp de Guantánamo, décident de les séquestrer dans des cages cachées au cœur de la forêt, à l’abri des regards, allant même jusqu'à les torturer, notamment en les marquant comme du bétail, les privant de sommeil et les interrogeant comme des criminels…Actors

Jordan et Mickael sont amis depuis vingt ans et colocataires depuis dix. The film's plot revolves around the coming of the Apocalypse, heralded by the imminent liberation of the Antichrist from the depths of Hell through a certain gateway at the close of one full millennium. This gate can only be opened by a special key, which has been kept guarded by the order of the Templars (who in this version existed since the last days of Jesus). The key in turn is sought out by the servant of the Antichrist, simply known as the Minion, a demonic spirit that transfers itself into the next available host body when his previous one is killed off. His first attempt to gain the key at the close of the year 999 is foiled; the sole surviving Templar of the company charged with hiding the key eventually takes off with a ship to the west, to what was at that time known as the "end of the world", to keep it from the Minion's grasp.

The film opens in Edinburgh. Narration by Angus the Hangman explains how the corpses of the hanged are transported to Dr. Robert Knox for dissection. Knox's rival, Dr. Alexander Monro, wants the steady supply of cadavers but is forced to rely on severed limbs for dissection. Monro's assistant Charles Darwin arrives with a forged letter directing that all corpses thenceforth must be sent to Monro. Angus tells Knox's assistant, Patterson, the news.
