The Age for Love was a 1931 American Pre-Code comedy film (now lost) directed by Frank Lloyd based on the 1930 novel of the same name by Ernest Pascal. The film was a vehicle for Howard Hughes' mistress Billie Dove. The film was a commercial failure, but this did not stop Hughes funding another film for Billie Dove.
The film's music includes "I'm Chuck Full of Kisses" (music by Alfred Newman, lyrics by screenwriter David Silverstein) and "Just Another Night" (again by Alfred Newman, Con Conrad and David Silverstein).

Russian prince (Antonio Moreno), upon returning from the front, sees his wife (Billie Dove) in the company of a blackguard count. Prince becomes jealous, and, later, while attempting to break into the count's home, both he and the count are knocked unconscious by the mob. Prince, wife and count escape from Russia and eventually get to Paris, where wife is able to convince prince that it was her maid who went to the count's home.

The story revolves around a Florence Brent (Rita Jolivet) who is an American heiress who wishes to marry a Duke in Europe. The father of the duke wants her to have a title before marriage however, so she quickly marries the Duke's friend who is a Count with plans to quickly divorce him and retain the title. After the marriage though, she finds out that the Duke is already married. After all that, Florence's sweetheart arrives from America with a pistol and tells the Count he wants to marry her. She decides to go off with her sweetheart, and moves back to New York with him.

When Richard Barthelmess goes off to study for four years at a university in Mexico, his home in California is a part of Mexico. By the time he returns (around the year 1850), however, California has been overrun by Americans. Barthelmess finds his family living in fear of unscrupulous Americans and he finds the family estate is in shambles. Although the land deeds granted by the Spanish throne are supposed to be recognized by the United States government as proof of ownership, some crooked California land commissioners are attempting to rook the old owners. Barthelmess becomes embroiled in an argument with a federal official. He has brought 3000 head of cattle from his uncle to deliver to this official, played by Fred Kohler. Barthelmess flirts with a girl that Kohler considers to be his girlfriend and this leads the official to try up Barthelmess and lash him across the face. Barthelmess is eventually saved from further assault by the sheriff, played by James Rennie.

Après des études en Europe, Ethel Warren revient faire des débuts à New York avec la compagnie d'opéra dont Jean Paurel, un baryton de renommée mondiale, est la vedette. Carlo Sonino, un autre membre de la troupe, tombe amoureux d'Ethel et la prévient contre les avances du célèbre chanteur. Paurel s'amourache d'Ethel, provoquant ainsi la jalousie de la prima donna, Sabotini. Quand, après le premier acte, Ethel apprend que Paurel a eu une attaque à la gorge, elle se rue dans les coulisses. Carlo, prévenu par Sabotini, la suit et lui fait une scène, ce à quoi elle répond en annonçant ses fiançailles avec Paurel. Ce dernier étant incapable de jouer le deuxième acte, Carlo prend sa place et est très applaudi. Après que Paurel apprend qu'il ne pourra jamais plus chanter, Bianca, une chanteuse à la retraite et le premier amour de Paurel, lui apprend que Carlo est leur fils et supplie Paurel de laisser Ethel pour le bonheur du jeune homme. Finalement il accepte.
