Synopsis
Young Allen Anderson (Allelon Ruggerio), a struggling scriptwriter is under pressure from his girlfriend Mary Jane (Christi Taylor), due to his mediocre lifestyle and her big dream of earning his huge inheritance (which implies why she is dating him). While celebrating his 25th birthday, Allen is continuously haunted by strange visions of a figure engulfed in flames, a recurring theme in the film. Later in the day, Christi and some of Allen's friends and co-workers coax Allen to keep the family Golf Club open so they can throw a proper birthday party for him.Actors

Jimmy Winterpock always gets teased by the football team for being overweight at 188 pounds and only 5 ft 5. As a school assignment he writes about it in his journal. He soon meets a girl named Sable Moore who, as the story goes on, Jimmy learns that she cuts herself. After making quick friends, they start to go to church together. Eventually, Jimmy begins jogging with his father, with a goal to lose 38 pounds. Paul Grove, Jimmy's friend wants to catch a killer so he posts a Photoshopped picture of Jimmy's sister as bait, because of this, Jimmy feels guilty. Paul talks Jimmy into sneaking out to a party. Later Paul's father commits suicide. Paul runs away and gets injured in an accident in Colorado. Jimmy tutors Robb Thurman, who is the football captain. Robb, because of this, tells his teammates not to harass Jimmy any more, as they become friends.

On Los Angeles's skid row, penny-pinching Gravis Mushnick (Mel Welles) owns a florist shop which is staffed by him and his two employees, the sweet but simple Audrey Fulquard (Jackie Joseph) and clumsy Seymour Krelboyne (Jonathan Haze). Although the rundown shop gets little business, there are some repeat customers; for instance, Mrs. Siddie Shiva (Leola Wendorff) shops almost daily for flower arrangements for her many relatives' funerals. Another regular customer is Burson Fouch (Dick Miller), who eats the plants he buys for lunch. When Seymour fouls up the arrangement of Dr. Farb (John Shaner), a sadistic dentist, Mushnick fires him. Hoping Mushnick will change his mind, Seymour tells him about a special plant that he crossbred from a butterwort and a Venus flytrap. Bashfully, Seymour admits that he named the plant "Audrey Jr.", a revelation that delights the real Audrey.

In an old Hollywood mansion, the spirit of a butler inhabits a grandfather clock. When two teenagers decide to use the mansion (which once belonged to one of the teen's grandfather) for a film, they encounter the spirit frightening away a burglar. The other teen builds a mechanical body for the spirit to possess when next he appears. The butler provides the penurious teens and their leading lady, who lack the money to complete their film, with information leading them on a hunt in the mansion's dank, dark basement.
