Agnus Dei (French title: Les Innocentes) is an upcoming drama film directed by Anne Fontaine, starring Lou de Laâge, Agata Kulesza, Agata Buzek and Vincent Macaigne. The script by Sabrina B. Karine, Pascal Bonitzer, Anne Fontaine and Alice Vial is based on a true story.
The film is a French-Polish-Belgian co-production that was supported by the Polish Film Institute and the Film Commission Poland. Principal photography began on 13 January 2015 in the Warmia region in Poland, and lasted for seven weeks.
Synopsis
1945 Poland, a young French Red Cross doctor who is sent to assist the survivors of the German camps, discovers several nuns in advanced states of pregnancies during a visit to a nearby convent.
