Synopsis
Dans le bateau qui l'amène aux États-Unis, Marya Nisko tombe amoureuse d'un autre immigrant polonais, Sascha Rabinoff. À son arrivée, elle découvre la pauvreté de sa sœur, elle devient femme de chambre, puis obtient une audition comme danseuse auprès d'un directeur de théâtre. Elle obtient un engagement grâce à Stephen Ross, qui s'occupe de sa formation. Pendant ce temps, Sascha en est réduit aux soupes populaires mais attire l'attention d'un riche philanthrope, Josef Marinoff, qui aime son idée d'un foyer pour immigrants. Grâce à Marinoff, Sascha et Marya seront réunis.Actors

Bien qu'elle soit une héritière et plutôt charmante, Venice Muir est très timide. Elle est flattée quand le flirt Donnie Wainwright la presse de s'enfuir à Paris avec lui, puis irrité quand il l'abandonne avant le départ de leur navire. Venise a une idée, engageant un type sans le sou, Guy Bryson, pour faire semblant d'être un gigolo et faire connaître l'effet de Venise sur les hommes. Bientôt, elle est le toast de Paris, des prétendants faisant la queue pour la courtiser, dont René, un homme de lignée noble. À son insu, René est très endetté. Lorsqu'elle rejette sa proposition, René se suicide, renforçant la réputation de Venise en tant que renarde déchirante. De retour à la maison, Venise est suivie de plus de commérages, dont certains sur Guy. Un Donnie ébloui recommence à la poursuivre, gagnant finalement Venise sans jamais connaître sa ruse.

Jim Hutton and Mary Archer are two liberals who are content to remain faithful to each other in spirit only. They are married with all the ritual of a church wedding, the bride believing that each should be allowed perfect freedom in personal contacts. Among the wedding guests is the young composer Richard Parrish, hardly disguising his admiration for the bride, and Noel Farley, whose passion is exceeded only by the pain of losing Jim to another woman. A child is born to them. When Jim goes off to Europe on a business trip, Mary declines to accompany him. Noel, who owns a villa at Antibes, lures Jim into a rendezvous. Meanwhile, Mary has an affair with Richard. Learning of Jim's rendezvous, she considers a Paris divorce so as to marry Richard. When Jim unexpectedly returns, he tells Mary of his affair with a French woman. Mary is devastated, for she would never believe that her husband would actually sleep with another woman. In the end their mutual love is confirmed, and they decide to adopt traditional marriage morals and remain monogamous.
