Wonder Bar is set in a Parisian nightclub, with the stars playing the ‘regulars’ at the club. The movie revolves around two main story points, a romance and a more serious conflict with death, and several minor plots. All of the stories are enlivened from time to time by extravagant musical numbers. The more serious story revolves around Captain Von Ferring (Robert Barrat), a German military officer. Ferring has gambled on the stock market and lost, now broke after dozens of failed investments, he is at the Wonder Bar to try and pull a one night stand before killing himself the following day. Al Wonder (Al Jolson) knows about Ferring's plan.

George (Hoskins), recently released from prison, is given a job as the driver for a high-class prostitute named Simone (Tyson) by his former boss, Denny Mortwell (Caine). Set in Rome and its surroundings, the film tells in a frighteningly realistic, ruthless and grotesque the evil of two powerful men of Italy in the seventies: a Director of illegal buildings (Vittorio Gassman), extremist fascist, and an upright judge, cynical looking in part to the Italian law (Ugo Tognazzi). Both can not stand each other, given the contrasts between the two men in any social, political and philosophical. Everyone hates each other and would like to delete it, but just because of the bad example that the two men give power to the people, many Italians are adversely affected because of cheating and rudeness of the fascist manufacturer and the communist magistrate. The director Dino Risi underlines the misdeeds and the weakness of the Italian people to react accordingly, by focusing on the story of these two men who are each other's opposite of the net.

Vedam revolves around 5 principal characters. Vivek Chakravarthy (Manoj Manchu) is an upcoming rock star in Bengaluru who hails from a family of decorated army officers. His mother wants him to follow the same path but he isn't interested. He is about to give his first live concert on New Year's Eve with his band-mates in Hyderabad. However, Vivek is late to catch the flight and so the band is forced to travel by road. After sometime, one of their tyres get deflated. Not having a spare, the other friends go to get the tyre inflated leaving Vivek and Lasya (Lekha Washington) alone. Meanwhile, they are attacked by a Hindu racist group. However, they manage to get out of the mess with the help of a Sikh truck driver (who incidentally gets involved in an earlier altercation with Vivek). The band successfully reaches Hyderabad. However they suffer a minor accident there which involves a mother in labour. So Vivek and Lasya take her to a hospital nearby.

Daniela (Guida), nicknamed "Blue Jeans" after her cut-off jean shorts, is an underage streetwalker. Lulu (Louise Brooks) is the mistress of a respected, middle-aged newspaper publisher, Dr. Ludwig Schön (Fritz Kortner). Lulu tries to get him to change his mind, but when he discovers the disreputable-looking Schigolch, he leaves.
