It was released on March 22, 2008, and was directed by Kotaro Terauchi. It is based on a legend and some actual events that occurred in Japan. It deals with the origins of the Slit-Mouthed Woman.
Sixteen-year-old actress Rin Asuka takes the lead as high school girl Mayumi, whose face is disfigured by an attack with sulfuric acid. As more unfortunate events occur, it eventually leads her to becoming a supernatural mass murderer.
Synopsis
The setting is Japan in 1978. Mayumi Sawada lives a good life in a small town in Gifu. Her family runs a successful farming business. Her older sister Sachiko is about to be married, and her other sister Yukie does great business at the hair salon. Mayumi also becomes friends with her crush, Seiji Moriyama. A few days before he leaves for college in Tokyo, Seiji takes Mayumi to a pretty area with a view of the whole town, where he gives Mayumi a button from his gakuran jacket, telling her that he wants her to have it. In a typical Tokyo high school a perpetually teenage vampire named Monami (Yukie Kawamura) falls for her classmate, Mizushima (Takumi Saito), who happens to already be the reluctant boyfriend to the vice principal/science professor's daughter, Keiko (Eri Otoguro), a leader of a Sweet Lolita gang. The ensuing love triangle leads Keiko to seek the assistance of her father who, unbeknown to his daughter, moonlights as a Kabuki-clad mad scientist with the school nurse as his assistant. The film opens with police investigating a crime scene littered with bodies. It then cuts to a week prior, where Casey (Catherine Annette) is being interviewed for a potential porn shoot with Devin (Clint Brink) and Josh (Lee Kholafai). She's assaulted and despite the attempts of fellow porn star Ashley Saint (Betsy Rue), the two women are overpowered. 40 years after the events of the first film, bombs drop down on London during the Blitz of World War II, Eve Parkins joins her schoolchildren and the school's headmistress, Jean Hogg, to evacuate them to the countryside town of Crythin Gifford.
