The Sicilian Clan (original French title: Le clan des siciliens) is a 1969 French crime film directed by Henri Verneuil and starring Jean Gabin, Lino Ventura and Alain Delon. The film was largely marketed by the casting together of three of the leading French movie actors of the day.
The film score was written by Italian composer Ennio Morricone.
Synopsis
In Paris, bloodthirsty jewel thief Roger Sartet (Alain Delon) escapes from custody with the help of the Manalese, a small-time but well-organised Sicilian Mafia clan led by patriarch Vittorio (Jean Gabin) and which includes his sons Aldo (Yves Lefebvre) and Sergio (Marc Porel) and son-in-law Luigi (Philippe Baronnet). While in prison, Sartet got to know an electrician (Christian de Tillière) who was involved in the setting up of an extensive security system at a diamond exhibition in Rome — the electrician returned home early, unannounced, caught his wife in bed with a lover and shot them. Unaccustomed to prison life, he made friends with Sartet and bit-by-bit supplied him with details of the exhibition.Actors

Routier, Jean Viard ne trouve aucune compréhension auprès de sa famille avec laquelle il ne s'entend guère. Il lui est reproché ses longues absences, ses retours souvent retardés, le peu de temps à séjourner chez lui entre deux missions. Avec son fidèle coéquipier Berty, il s'arrête souvent au relais « La Caravane » où il rencontre Clotilde, une petite bonne d'une vingtaine d'années. Lassitude, solitude des deux êtres qui, irrésistiblement attirés l'un vers l'autre, se rapprochent. Un amour solide naît. De multiples contretemps vont empêcher Jean et Clotilde de former un couple durable. Jean perd momentanément son emploi. Clotilde, enceinte, n'osera lui avouer son état et se fera avorter. Elle meurt dans l'ambulance qui l'a prise en charge trop tard, d'une septicémie consécutive à l'avortement réalisé dans la clandestinité quelques jours plus tôt, alors qu'ils avaient enfin décidé de se retrouver et partir refaire leur vie ensemble.

The film's plot is based on the Kennedy assassination and subsequent investigation. After François Leclercq seduces the young and rich Gilberte Beaumont-Liégard, she introduces him to her family. Through the budding relationship with her in-laws, Leclercq is able to assimilate into the local upper class of his hometown, Cornai. A friend of Gilberte's father, Raphaël Di Massa hires him as manager of his new nightclub, "Number One". The oblivious parvenu Leclercq eventually discovers that "Number One" is actually a cover-up for Raphaël Di Massa's illegal drug trade. Following a dispute between Di Massa and Leclercq, the gun of the latter is stolen and used in the murder of a local football star. An orchestrated miscarriage of justice puts Leclercq in prison, despite his innocence. Seven years later, he returns to Cornai and discovers that it wasn't Di Massa, but Gilberte's father Jean-Baptiste Beaumont-Liégard who ran the drug operation during Leclercq's employment. In an act of retaliation, Leclercq turns Beaumont-Liégard's accomplices against him. As Jean-Baptiste Beaumont-Liégard is executed, Leclercq leaves the city satisfied with his revenge.

Le docteur Charles Pellegrin, veuf d'un premier mariage, a épousé en secondes noces, Armande, une femme surtout préoccupée par le statut social que lui procure ce mariage. À l'occasion d'un déplacement professionnel, Pellegrin rate son train et tue le temps en compagnie de Martine, une belle et jeune aventurière. Elle devient très vite sa maîtresse et il lui donne de l'argent. Il va même jusqu'à l’introduire dans son cercle familial où il la fait passer pour son assistante médicale. Martine a gardé le contact avec Boquet, un patron de bistrot un peu louche. Ce Boquet rend Pellegrin fou de jalousie à ce point que la crise couve entre les deux amants. A la veille de l'anniversaire de Charles, Martine fait sa valise. Armande Pellegrin reproche alors à son mari non pas le fait que Martine est sa maîtresse, mais que cette situation génère des cancans dans la ville. Pellegrin fait sa valise et tente de rejoindre Martine à la gare où il ne la retrouve pas. Passant devant le café de Boquet il la voit conversant aimablement avec ce dernier, puis s'en aller et monter dans un autocar. Il la regarde partir complètement détruit et rejoint le foyer familial. Les deux époux se retrouvent et se font des promesses de circonstance.

The entire film takes place over the course of three days. Max, a decent and principled gangster, has dinner at Madame Bouche's restaurant, a hangout for criminals, with his longtime associate Riton, their burlesque-dancer girlfriends, and his protege Marco.
