Add to a movie listThe Snitch Cartel (Spanish: El Cartel de los Sapos) is a 2011 Colombian crime film directed by Carlos Moreno. The film was selected as the Colombian entry for the Best Foreign Language Oscar at the 85th Academy Awards but did not make the final shortlist.
The film, like the 2008 Caracol TV series El Cartel, is based on the 2008 novel by the same name by Andrés López López, alias Florecita ("Little Flower"), a former drug dealer who, while in prison, wrote the fictionalized account of his experiences in the Cali Cartel and of what happened within the Norte del Valle Cartel.

Several thugs including Victor Peñaranda, are found in the house of a man known as "El Mellizo" (The Twin). Peñaranda and another thug, known as Zabala, torture "Mellizo" (the Twin) until accidentally killing him in order to recover the money stolen from "El Orejon" (Big Ears), head of the above-mentioned thugs and leader of the underworld of Cali. Don Pablo, intermediary of "El Orejón" and the thugs, orders a search for money around the house and Peñaranda which he finds in a black bag in a pot. Peñaranda decides to steal the money, claiming to Don Pablo and the other thugs that he did not find any such money inside the house. For its part, "El Orejón" (Big Ears) attends the funeral of his godson William Medina, murdered in Buenaventura near Cali.

In the last two days of 1999, Los Angeles has become a dangerous war zone. As a group of criminals rob a Chinese restaurant, the event is recorded by a robber wearing a 'SQUID', or "Superconducting Quantum Interference Device", an illegal electronic device which records events directly from the wearer's cerebral cortex, and when played back through a MiniDisc-like device called a "deck", allow a user to experience the recorder's memories and physical sensations. Lenny Nero is a former LAPD officer turned black marketeer who deals in bootleg SQUID recordings. His main supplier, Tick (Richard Edson), tries to sell the robbery clip to him. Lenny eventually agrees to buy it at a reduced price, having to cut out the last part where the rig records the robber's death by falling; clips that record the wearer's death are known as "blackjack" (snuff) clips, because the experience is described as "jacking into the big black" by Tick.

Corrado is the story of a Los Angeles hit man of the same name. Corrado (Messner) is given the task of eliminating the aging kingpin Vittorio Spinello. He readily accepts the job and is about to perform the hit when he is interrupted by Spinello's new nurse, Julia (Elaine).
