Synopsis
Harle est tellement absorbé par ses affaires qu'il néglige sa femme Claire. Un jour, un de ses vieux amis, Henri, Marquis de Puymaufray, leur rend visite et Claire tombe amoureuse de cet homme cultivé et sensible. Plusieurs mois après son départ, Claire donne naissance à une petite fille, Claudia, et meurt peu après.Actors

Dave Henderson se fait dépouiller de son héritage de 100 000 $ par deux escrocs, Martin Tydeman et Bokky Sharvan. Pour se venger, Dave vole l'argent qui se trouvait dans le coffre-fort de Tydeman, mais il est attrapé et condamné à cinq ans de prison. In this wisecracking comedy, Dan Dolan (Spencer Tracy) is a cop whose beat is the New York waterfront. François Faho, qui travaille dans un cirque, décide Armand Durand, un ancien camarade de guerre en plein désespoir amoureux, de se joindre à eux. Après quelques mois sur les routes, ce dernier s'est bien intégré. Mais le cirque de Papa Jules n'a pas toujours payé ses taxes et il finit par être rattrapé par la police qui saisit tout leur matériel, y compris les roulottes qui contenaient leurs vêtements. Ils se retrouvent alors à quatre, François, Armand, Lorenzo et Papa Jules, et il ne leur reste qu'une malle, qui contient entre autres un costume de singe, ce qui leur donne l'idée de déguiser Faho et d'en faire une attraction, « le singe parlant ». Ils jurent alors de ne pas révéler leur truc.

As described in a film magazine review, after Vania Lazar is betrayed and debauched by Grand Duke Valanoff, she leaves Russia with no thought except to prey upon the sex that has made her what she is. Then comes the war, and she sees wounded Russians being taken to the hospital. In one room, she finds Prince Valanoff, the son of her betrayer, and with her wiles she wins his love and then his name. When the Grand Duke comes to visit, his son the Prince is absent. Not recognizing the new Vania, the Grand Duke responds to her lure, and the son discovers his own father as the betrayer of his happiness.
