It is directed by Dino Risi and is a funny classic story of a perfect robbery plan gone wrong in the Italian way. It was entered into the 5th Moscow International Film Festival where it won a Silver Prize.
Synopsis
In Italy in the Sixties, a gang of American thieves arrive in Naples to steal the famous Treasure of San Gennaro. However the Americans do not know how to move in the picturesque town. For the customs of the natives are too weird and incomprehensible to them. So the two men and the girl (the gang members) go to a prison, following the advice of a friend. There he would find the man who would have done in their case. It is a certain Don Vincenzo, a very famous in the city for his theft. He however, since it is known by everyone there, is treated in the prison as a gentleman by the guards with all possible facilities. The Americans, when they see this type of treatment, impossible in a country like them, remain quite stunned. Don Vincenzo warmly received them and advises them to go to Naples to look for a certain Armandino Girasole, said "Dudù". He, a young thief by profession, would help them steal the treasure of San Gennaro, fortunately not mentioned by the Americans to Don Vincenzo. The Americans, keeping secret the purpose of theft, meet Dudù and agree with him.Actors

Gerardo, an aspiring actor, trying unsuccessfully to cross over from comedy to tragedy, is involved, due to his ability to mimic dialects of Italy, in a scam concocted by Lallo against a rich cloth-merchant. A Roman small-time crook, Cosimo, is arrested for the attempted theft of a car. After he is convicted and put in prison, he starts haranguing his girlfriend and former accomplices by telling them that he has a plan for a heist but that he needs their help to be freed. In order to assure his release, they find an acquaintance named Peppe (Vittorio Gassman) with a clean criminal record to take the blame for the theft in the hope that the police will release Cosimo. They instead have both of them jailed. While Peppe is in jail, Cosimo tells him the plans for the heist of a safe in a pawnshop. Peppe then reveals that he got off merely with probation, leaving him free to pursue the heist without Cosimo, much to his chagrin.

Marino and Marisa are two villagers of a small mountain village in the Marche region, where the mentality of the people is still very backward. 1/ Une journée décisive de Dino Risi : Raganelli compte bien profiter d'un voyage d'entreprise pour dévoiler sa flamme à Gabriella. Celle-ci se montre réceptive, mais à force de tergiversations et reculades Raganelli va se retrouver entre les bras d'une autre, dont il n'est pas du tout amoureux. 2/ Le Complexe de l'esclave nubienne de Franco Rossi : Apprenant que sa femme à jadis tenu un petit rôle d'esclave nubienne dénudée dans un peplum, le puritain professeur Beozi tente de réparer cet impair en récupérant le film de la scène en question. La scène ayant été censurée, il doit aller le chercher dans les archives de la Censure. 3/ Guillaume « Dents longues » de Luigi Filippo D'Amico : Une chaîne de télévision organise un casting pour sélectionner le nouveau présentateur du journal télévisé. Bertone réussi tous les tests, mais sa denture chevaline pousse le jury à vouloir l'éliminer sans lui en révéler la cause. Bertone se révèle inébranlable.

Marco Ravicchio, responsable des relations publiques d'une modeste société de production cinématographique italienne, part pour Buenos Aires pour présenter un film lors d'un festival. Il est accompagné d'un scénariste vorace et sordide, deux actrices sans talent à la recherche de publicité et une troisième actrice, Luciana, qui n'est plus très jeune et qui espère trouver un mari argentin fortuné. A Buenos Aires, le groupe est importuné par un riche émigrant italien, l'ingénieur Marucchelli, qui a fait de la nostalgie son passe-temps favori. Marco n'obtient pas de le prêt de son ami Stefano, émigré des années auparavant et demande l'argent à l'ingénieur Marucchelli qui ne lui donne que des belles paroles. A la fin du festival, le groupe retourne en Italie avec un peu d'expérience et beaucoup déception.

Giorgio et Luisa (Virna Lisi) sont de jeunes époux passionnément amoureux. Par une chaude après-midi d'été, Giorgio essaie de convaincre sa femme de faire l'amour avec lui, mais voilà ses approches interrompues par un coup de téléphone de sa belle-mère. Luisa, malgré les protestations de Giorgio, s’éternise dans une conversation avec sa mère, passant de sujets sans intérêt à des coups de colère (et la discussion téléphonique nous permet de savoir la piètre opinion que la belle-mère a de son gendre). Giorgio repère dans l'immeuble d’en face la nouvelle locataire, une ragazza plantureuse et, à ce qu’il a entendu dire, tout à fait décomplexée, et le voilà qui prétend être un vendeur d'encyclopédies pour pénétrer chez elle. Sans se rendre compte de rien, Luisa s’éternise au téléphone.
