The film marked the debut of Tomás Milián in the western genre and was the first film score of composer Stelvio Cipriani. It was also the first Spanish western to receive a state funding for the "artistic interest of the work".
It was shown as part of a retrospective on Spaghetti Western at the 64th Venice International Film Festival.
Synopsis
The notorious bounty hunter Luke Chilson pursues the Mexican fugitive Jose Gomez. He follows him through the desert only to arrive in a Mexican village where Gomez achieves to turn the peasants against his hunter. Unaware of the danger Chilson finds himself trapped.Actors

After being double-crossed in an arms deal by a gun merchant McDermott (Luis Dávila) from Columbus, New Mexico, a legendary Mexican revolutionary Pancho Villa played by (Telly Savalas) and his US lieutenant Scotty (Clint Walker) decide to take a revenge by first raiding a US Army weapons depot in Columbus, and then seizing McDermott. In 1906, Saxton (Christopher Lee), a renowned British anthropologist, is returning to Europe by the Trans-Siberian Express from China to Moscow. With him is a crate containing the frozen remains of a primitive humanoid creature that he discovered in a cave in Manchuria. He hopes it is a missing link in human evolution. Doctor Wells (Peter Cushing), Saxton's friendly rival and Royal Society colleague, is also on board but travelling separately. Before the train departs Shanghai, a thief is found dead on the platform. His eyes are completely white without irises or pupils, and a bystander initially mistakes him for a blind man. A monk named Father Pujardov (Alberto de Mendoza), the spiritual advisor to a Polish Count and Countess who are also waiting to board the train, proclaims the contents of the crate to be evil. Saxton furiously dismisses this as superstition. Saxton's eagerness to keep his scientific find secret arouses the suspicion of Wells, who bribes a porter to investigate the crate. The porter is killed by the ape-like creature within, which then escapes the crate by picking the lock.

Jeune boxeur et fleuriste, Chris Kronberger est fou amoureux de la médium Magda Berger. Mais, un soir, son compagnon magicien et ventriloque Hans est assassiné dans sa loge. McLord is a wanted criminal. He frequently suffers with fits which hinder him to defend himself. His condition seems to deteriorate continuously. Seeking shelter he enters the lawless town Escondido although it is currently under siege by a high-ranked law enforcement officer. There he gets to know the young Laurinda and finds a doctor who discovers the reason for his fits. Unlike he feared he's not epileptic and can be cured for good. Yet he's still an outlaw and that is in the end his downfall.
