Synopsis

Joe Cumberland trouve "Dan le siffleur" dans le désert et lui offre l'hospitalité dans son ranch, après l'avoir soigné avec l'aide de sa fille Kate. Dan, devenu adulte, reste sauvage, avec un caractère qui l'amène souvent à la colère. Dan va chercher à se venger après que le hors-la-loi Jim Silent a essayé de le tuer lors dune bagarre dans un saloon. Kate est faite prisonnière par Silent, Dan capture Lee Haines, un des hommes de Silent, mais ce dernier fait prisonnier le père de Kate. Après un échange de prisonniers, Dan suit la piste des hors-la-loi et les tue tous à l'exception de Silent. Les deux adversaires en viennent aux mains et Dan étrangle Silent. Sa revanche accomplie, Dan se calme et s'installe avec Kate.

As summarized in a film publication, Buck (Jones) consents to study for the ministry, and before leaving attempts to convince his worthless brother Jed (Curtis) to sober up and stay home with their mother (Lee) during Buck's absence. On the eve of his leaving Buck is implicated in a murder committed by Jed and his gang. Buck serves two years and upon his release completes his study for the ministry before returning home. People ridicule him and laugh at the "jailbird minister," as they call him. During one of his services, his brother and two pals enter the church to hide from the prison officials who are after them. Buck shields them, and they later come to his aid when Flash McGraw (Siegmann), the owner of a dance hall, has lured a Salvation Army girl (Bedford) to his room, and Buck has to fight the whole gang. A girl who believes McGraw is "throwing her over" reveals that McGraw "framed" the murder charge on Jed and his pals. This gives the men their freedom and clears Buck, leaving him free to marry the Salvation Army girl.

Michael Dane part au nord du Canada rejoindre son frère, Peter, qui a trouvé de l'or avec son partenaire, Angus McKenzie. En route, Dane rencontre Estelle McDonald et tombe amoureux d'elle. Lorsqu'il arrive au comptoir, Dane découvre que Peter a été assassiné. Dane est soumis à la même torture lorsqu'il essaye d'aider McKenzie, accusé à tort. Ils arrivent à s'évader, et Dane doit se battre contre une meute de loups. Estelle les suit en canoë, poursuivie elle-même par Cameron McDonald, son oncle, le véritable assassin de Peter Dane. McDonald meurt après une poursuite au-dessus d'une chute d'eau, et Dane et Estelle repartent vers la civilisation.
