Add to a movie listPour les soldats tombés (They Shall Not Grow Old) est un film documentaire britanniquo-néo-zélandais réalisé et co-produit par Peter Jackson, sorti en 2018. Le film a été réalisé à l'occasion du centenaire de la Première Guerre mondiale en utilisant des archives d'époques provenant du Musée Impérial de la Guerre de Londres. La particularité de ce documentaire tient des clichés colorisés pour l'occasion et auxquels on a ajouté le son et les dialogues. Des témoignages et interviews d'anciens soldats Anglais à la BBC accompagnent les vidéos tout au long du film. Grâce à l'usage de nouvelles technologies, chaque séquence du film a pu être colorisée à la main. Les effets sonores tels que les bruits d'obus ou encore les conversations ont également été rajoutés en faisant appel à des agents du secteur criminalistique lisant sur les lèvres. L'addition des couleurs mais aussi des sons permet ainsi une immersion dans l'expérience qu'ont vécu les soldats.
Le titre du film fait référence au poème Pour les soldats tombés de Laurence Binyon paru en 1914, dont le vers They shall grow not old a inspiré le titre en anglais.
Synopsis
Entre 1914 et 1918, un conflit mondial change à jamais le cours de l’histoire. Les hommes et femmes qui y ont participé ne vivaient pas dans un monde silencieux, en noir et blanc. Un voyage dans le temps pour revivre l‘histoire avec ceux qui y étaient.Comments

Cette contribution à l'effort de guerre américain, réalisée en Technicolor, est une sorte de poème impressionniste faisant une description minutieuse de la position géographique des lieux et surtout des conditions de vie des soldats. Avec une équipe du Signal Corp., Huston se rendit pendant l'automne et l'hiver 1942 dans les îles Aléoutiennes, point de départ des raids américains sur les bases japonaises de Attu et de Kiska. C'était un archipel balayé par des tempêtes continuelles dont les images donnent une vision terrifiante des conditions de vie des soldats et d'atterrissage des avions. Par cette description humaine, Huston montre sa profonde admiration, non pour la guerre en elle-même mais pour le courage des hommes qui y étaient mêlés.

Before the film, several text cards explain bombers and the Royal Air Force chain of command. The film begins with an observation aircraft flying over and dropping a box of undeveloped film. Bomber Command develops the film and analyzes the resulting photographs, which are presented for the audience to see. There has been a massive build-up by German forces in the subject area for the past few months. The film shows the planning of the mission, even detailing how the bomber wing chooses munitions for the task. The weather forecast is expected to be good and the pilots are briefed. The crew of "'F' for Freddie", the bomber that is the focal point of the film, suit up and take off. While over Germany, the crew bombs the target, dead on for one bomb but their aircraft is hit by flak from "faceless" anti-aircraft gunners. The radio operator is hit in the leg and Freddie is the last aircraft to return. Mist covers the water, prompting worry at the Command. Meanwhile, Freddie cannot climb after the flak hit. They are not losing altitude but are in a bad situation. Tension builds in the film until finally, 'F for Freddie' lands. No aircraft are lost and the mission is a complete success.

Les Stalags sont des livres de poche dont les intrigues tournent autour de vigoureuses femmes officier SS qui abusent des prisonniers. Au cours des années 1960, parallèlement au procès contre le criminel de guerre nazi Adolf Eichmannl, les ventes de cette littérature pornographique ont battu tous les records en Israël et des centaines de milliers d’exemplaires ont été vendus dans les kiosques. La popularité des Stalags a faibli seulement après le procès contre leurs auteurs qui ont été accusés de distribution pornographique antisémite.
