It was entered into the 31st Berlin International Film Festival where Anatoly Solonitsyn won the Silver Bear for Best Actor.
Synopsis
En octobre 1866, Dostoïevski doit livrer dans un court laps de temps le manuscrit d'un roman à l'éditeur Stellovski . Sur les conseils d'amis, le romancier utilise les services d'une sténographe, Anna Grigorievna Snitkina. Grâce à cette collaboration, il est en mesure de terminer Le Joueur. Pendant ces vingt-six jours, un sentiment profond s'établit et Anna deviendra l'année suivante la deuxième épouse de l'écrivain.Actors

In the provincial town for exercises come tank units of the Red Army. Tank commander Mikhail Belokon (Simon) rents a room at the agricultural school student Tonya Zhukova (Okunevskaya). Between the young people there a romantic attachment. However, each of them believes that the nascent feelings can interfere with more important, in their view, the case in life: to Tonya - tuition at the college for Mikhail - the preparation of military vehicles and soldiers for upcoming maneuvers. Nevertheless, the characters pass by a strip of misunderstanding and explain each other in love.

Team of steel erectors has been redeployed to the new construction activity in a small town where the steel mill was being built. The head of the squad Nicholay Pasechnik, albeit shockworker of Socialist Labour, is, however, reputed to be a darling of the women and humorist. The welder Katerina Petrashen', working on the construction site as well, is to be considered by a great many of people as a pretty girl of easy virtue: she smokes (at the time, it was the height of immorality!), not a member of the Komsomol, likes party-coloured dresses and behaves provocatively.
