Starring Prabhas, Trisha, Gopichand in lead roles and music was composed by Devi Sri Prasad. The film recorded as Super Hit at box office, which was the first success of Prabhas after previous unsuccessful films. The film was remade in Tamil as Mazhai starring Jayam Ravi and Shriya Saran and in Oriya as Barsa My Darling. It was dubbed in Hindi as Baarish The season of love.
Synopsis
The film was loosely based on the Ramayana. Venkat (Prabhas) and Sailaja (Trisha) are youngsters who first meet on a train during a rain shower. Venkat keeps bumping into Sailaja coincidentally every time it rains. This makes them both feel that it is perhaps the rain that keeps bringing them together, and they start to fall in love. Venkat is mesmerized by Sailaja's beauty, charisma, and childlike behavior. Sailaja, also, is impressed by Venkat. Due to unfortunate circumstances the two are drawn apart. At the same time that the two meet, Sailaja catches the eye of antagonist Bhadranna (Gopichand) who also becomes infatuated with Sailaja. Venkat and Sailaja meet in Warangal again and believe that they are meant for each other because it rains every time they meet. Ranga Rao (Prakash Raj), Sailaja's dad, is a typical black sheep with all kinds of bad habits. In the process, he is ready to marry off his daughter to Bhadranna for money. Ranga Rao plants certain ego problems in the minds of Venkat and Sailaja in order to break them up. This causes Venkat to leave Warangal for Vizag. And Sailaja prepares to become an actress (her father convinces her). Later on, Bhadranna kidnaps Sailaja. The rest of the story is about how Venkat rescues Sailaja from the bastion of Bhadranna and how he clears up the misunderstanding with Sailaja in the process.Actors

Chanti, a soldier, arrives at his village for his father's funeral. He is bequeathed 5 acres (20,000 m) of property which he plans to use for his blind sister Revathy. Unfortunately the land happens to be between two proposed sites for a road in which the local MLA (Atul Kulakarni) has an interest, as it leads to his factory. He offers to buy it from Chanti, who refuses, citing it as a memorial of his father. Revathy is married to Raja Ravindra, Chanti's army friend, who is killed by the MLA. The rest of the story is how Chanti avenges his friend and father, who it is revealed was also killed by the MLA and marries his cousin (Charmme Kaur).

Seenu (Ram) enjoys fights right from his childhood. He appreciates violence. He wants to be like Manikyam (Pradeep Rawat), who was a goonda, as everyone, including his teacher, is afraid of him. During a walk to the park Raghuraman (Prakash Raj) meets Sudhakar (Prithviraj Sukumaran) and tells him about daughter Abhi (Trisha Krishnan). Raghuraman is the loving husband of Anu (Aishwarya Sivachandran) and the worrisome as well as caring father of his only daughter Abhi. Together they live a calm and content life in Ooty. Also living with them is "Ravi Shastri" (Elango Kumaravel) who was earlier a beggar and was adopted by Abhi. Raghuraman and Abhi become best friends. Over the years as Abhi grows up, Raghuraman has the joy of being a part of her life. When Abhi gets accepted in a prestigious college in New Delhi, Raghuraman is shocked. Although the thought of being separated from his daughter for two whole years is heartbreaking, Raghuraman wearily accepts. After returning from college, Abhi tells her parents that she has fallen in love with a young man in Delhi. Anu is perfectly all right with the idea, but Raghuraman is angry and scared. He shouts at Abi and does not talk to her properly. Anu later informs Raghuraman that their future son-in-law will be arriving by flight and staying with them for a while. As soon as Raghuraman meets his future son-in-law, Joginder Singh (Ganesh Venkatraman), he is taken aback because Joginder is a Sikh. After many conflicts with Abhi and Anu, Raghuraman finally realizes that Joginder is self-sacrificing and quite talented, more so when on one occasion the Prime Minister calls him for advice. Abhi and Joginder get married and leave for Delhi. Anu and Abhi get teary-eyed, but Raghuraman stays calm. This is very surprising because he was the one that had cried on his daughter's first day to school. Raghuraman tells Sudhakar that he still stays in touch with his daughter and often gets to see her. Sudhakar understands how Raghuraman feels because he has a baby daughter himself. The movie ends with a phone call from Abhi.
