We'll Live Till Monday (Russian: Доживём до понедельника, translit. Dozhivyom do ponedelnika) is a 1968 Soviet drama film directed by Stanislav Rostotsky. It was entered into the 6th Moscow International Film Festival where it won the Golden Prize.

The film is about the life of an ordinary Moscow school with all its joys, problems and difficult choices in their lives of students and teachers.

Synopsis

Le film évoque l’atmosphère scolaire, ses pesanteurs et les espoirs qui s’y expriment. L’histoire raconte trois jours de la vie d’un professeur, Ilya Tsemenovitch. Il a connu la guerre et enseigne brillamment l’histoire depuis des années. Ilya aime sans oser le lui dire Natacha, son ancienne élève, devenue professeur d’anglais. Mais Natacha, elle aussi, aime Ilya : elle saura lui faire croire au bonheur. Les élèves autour d’eux, en poursuivant leurs propres rêves, manifestent leur sympathie pour leurs professeurs, et leur antipathie pour Svetlana Mikhailovna, professeur de littérature banal et femme au cœur sec

Matvey Morozov on his way home from prison recalls his story: Matvey, a tractor-driver, lives in the village of Penkovo. He is a funny guy, but sometimes his jokes bring him to trouble. Andrei Bolkonsky In St. Petersburg of 1805, Pierre Bezukhov, the illegitimate son of a rich nobleman, is introduced to high society. En juillet 1942, lors de la seconde bataille de Kharkov les défenses soviétiques sont submergées par la contre-attaque allemande. Accompagnées de réfugiés civils, les troupes reculent vers Stalingrad. Parmi les combattants se trouvent le lieutenant Youri Kierżencew, son radiotéléphoniste Anton Valega et Ivan Sedykh, un éclaireur. Pour quelques jours, ils sont hébergés dans la maison d'un ouvrier d'usine des tracteurs de Stalingrad dont la nièce prénommée Lucia travaille dans un hôpital militaire. En compagnie de la jeune femme, le lieutenant Kierżencew fait une promenade le long de la Volga, ils passent près du kourgane Mamaïev. Lucia voit Kierżencew comme quelqu'un de renfermé, peu causant et pragmatique. Lui même avoue que ses centres d’intérêt se sont réduits aux éléments d'organisation militaire tellement que, même en regardant la Lune, il la considère strictement du point de vue stratégique.
