Wild Animals (야생동물 보호구역, Yasaeng dongmul bohoguyeog) is Korean director Kim Ki-duk's second film, released in 1996. It is a crime-drama film set in Paris, and stars Cho Jae-hyun, Dong-jik Jang and Ryun Jang.
Synopsis
Deux immigrants clandestins vivent à Paris, un ancien soldat de Corée du Nord, Cheong-hae, et un peintre de rue, Hong-san, venant du Sud. Cheong-hae est une force de la nature et, moralement, d'une grande droiture. Hong-san, tout au contraire, est totalement immoral, et on le voit enchaîner traîtrise sur traîtrise. Seul des deux à parler un peu de français, il entraîne son compagnon à travailler pour la mafia...Actors

A young lady named Sun-hwa is sitting on a bench when an unusual man comes and sits by her side. She realizes that he is constantly looking at her and walks away, irritated. Her boyfriend comes and while they are talking, the silent man grabs and forcefully kisses her. Her boyfriend tries to pull him away with no results. When he stops, the woman demands an apology. He starts walking and some soldiers among the crowd that gathered due to the spectacle beat and restrain him. The woman insults him and spits on his face. He remains silent.

It is set in the South Korean countryside around a U.S. military base, and particularly involves the villages that are affected by its presence. This includes an unstable, near psychotic American soldier (Mitch Malem) who survives on a diet of LSD and rage, Eun-ok, a girl with one defective eye, Jihum a lonesome boy and Chang-guk, who lives in an old abandoned U.S. Air Force bus with his mother. She has taught Chang-guk English in an attempt to prepare him for their new life in the United States, reunited with his father who she mails regularly, although the letters are always returned "address unknown".

Tae-suk (Jae Hee) is a loner who drives around on his motorbike, taping takeout menus over the keyholes of front doors and breaking into apartments where the menus have not been removed. He lives in those apartments while their owners are away, washing their clothes and mending their broken appliances. Kang-do is a heartless man who has no living family members and whose job is to threaten debtors to repay his clients, the loan sharks who demand a 10x return on a one month loan.
