Filmed in and around Norwich, Connecticut, the film received a limited theatrical release at the Garde Arts Center on November 23, 2014 and premiered on Lifetime on December 6, 2014.
Synopsis
Fifth-grader Felix Funicello (Ralff), the cousin of famous Mickey Mouse Club Mousekteer and teen idol/movie actress Annette Funicello, lives in the fictional small town of Three Rivers, Connecticut. In 1964, he and his classmates at St. Aloyius Gonzaga Parochial School have a momentous fall semester after lay substitute teacher Madame Frechette (Ringwald) and Zhenya, a new student from Russia, arrive. Madame Frechette implements a new concept for the school's Christmas pageant and competition for key roles ensues. The story is narrated in the present day by Felix as an adult (Chase).Actors

Felix Funicello, écrivain américain d’une soixantaine d’années, revisite pour nous ses souvenirs du Noël de l’année 1962 qui resta, pour différentes raisons, gravé à jamais dans sa mémoire. Cette année-là, il se passe beaucoup de choses dans la vie du petit Felix, dix ans, élève de dernière année à Saint-Aloysius (Saint-Louis), une école catholique stricte et austère. Quelques jours avant Noël, une nouvelle enseignante québécoise laïque remplace temporairement l’institutrice de Felix. Beaucoup plus chaleureuse et ouverte que les religieuses et passionnée par son métier, elle va laisser un souvenir indélébile à Felix. Peu de temps après, une nouvelle élève, Zhenia, fait à son tour son entrée dans la classe. C'est une petite Russe, dont la famille vient d’émigrer aux Etats-Unis. Jolie et plus âgée que les autres élèves, elle ne laisse pas les garçons de la classe indifférents.

In 1995, Chris Brander (Ryan Reynolds) is an obese, curly-haired high school student with a lisp, braces, and a "gentle giant" demeanor. He attends the graduation party of his best friend, Jamie Palamino (Amy Smart), whom he secretly has a huge romantic crush on. He plans to confess his feelings by writing them in Jamie's yearbook. When Chris tries to return Jamie's yearbook, it is taken by her despicable ex-boyfriend, Tim (Ty Olsson). Chris is publicly humiliated when Tim reads his (Chris) confession aloud to the party but is further demoralized when Jamie doesn't reciprocate his intense and close romantic feelings and affections. After they share a kiss, Tim and the class burst out and humiliate Chris again. Embarrassed, Chris leaves on his bicycle tearfully and vows to leave town and never return in order to achieve greater success than his classmates.
