Synopsis
Eight people are chosen to compete on Camp Slasher, a new horror-themed game show in which the contestants must complete challenges while trying to avoid a masked killer, one who is based on a local urban legend. Unbeknownst to the cast and crew of the show, an actual homicidal maniac resides in the woods where they have decided to shoot, and after massacring the program's behind-the-scenes personnel, he sets his sights on the competitors.Comments

When police raid a house in a city north of New York, they discover a profoundly disturbing record of one man's ugly crimes. Investigators find over 800 videotapes shot by the killer which present a visual record of his murders in all their horrifying details. Both state and federal law enforcement teams sift through the gruesome images, looking for clues of his identity, the identity of his victims, and where he could have gone. Repeated viewings of the materials reveal little beyond the terrible facts of the crimes, and as the authorities comb through the madman's images, they find the tapes have had a disquieting effect on them.

On their way home from a family party, married couple David (Luke Wilson) and Amy Fox, (Kate Beckinsale) who are planning to divorce after their young son Charlie accidentally died, take a wrong turn on a remote mountain road. When their car breaks down, they discover they are lost in the middle of nowhere with no cell phone reception, and decide to start walking back to The Pinewood Motel where they had earlier consulted with a mechanic about noises with the car. The couple arrive at the motel where there are no other cars parked. At the counter desk, they couple hear piercing screams coming from the back room which makes Amy reluctant to stay. The motel manager, Mason (Frank Whaley) then appears and explains that the noises are coming from the television. The couple then book a room for the night.

In the intro, a mother reads the story of Hansel and Gretel to her young boy. The setting then moves to the present day, where The Man goes about his day-to-day routines and occasionally chats with others on his computer, where he looks for someone who shares his cannibalistic fantasies. The Man meets with several people he had chatted with, but he either rejects them or is rejected (and in one case attacked) by them, except for The Flesh, a suicidal man who volunteers to be killed and eaten by The Man. The Flesh travels to The Man from Berlin, and the two bond, having sex and frolicking in the nude in and around The Man's home.

Mr. Jingles, a serial killer and the co-host of a children's television series, abducts the Nelson family, and forces nine-year-old Angela to watch as he films himself murdering her parents, and sister. The police arrive in time to save Angela, and they arrest Jingles, though the sheriff is so disgusted by the clown's actions that he executes Jingles. The seemingly dead Jingles is thrown into the trunk of a police cruiser, but as Angela is led away, he winks at her.
