Dans le sud du Sahara, près d'un village dévasté par la famine et la pénurie d'eau potable, une petite fille revient chez elle avec son seau d'eau. Mais par accident elle renverse le seau, dont la précieuse eau se répand sur le sol. Il lui semble alors voir apparaître en l'air l'œil d'une gigantesque créature, une baleine. En versant pour elle la dernière goutte d'eau, la créature prend forme et sillonne le ciel, redonnant vie au paysage qui verdit et se repeuple d'animaux. La petite fille, entraînée sur le dos de la baleine, monte jusqu'au ciel où elle voit bondir dans les nuages des troupeaux d'animaux africains, girafes, éléphants, rhinocéros, gazelles. La baleine redescend progressivement, puis disparaît, laissant de nouveau place au soleil aveuglant sur la steppe aride. Ce n'était qu'une apparition. La petite fille ramasse son seau vide et poursuit son trajet dans la steppe, où se dessine en creux l'image du corps d'une baleine.

Wonderful Days is set in 2142. Environmental pollution has led to a breakdown of human civilization. A technologically advanced city named Ecoban was built and it harvests energy from the DELOS System, which uses pollution in a carbonite catalyzed reaction to generate power. Carbonite extraction is carried out by people who live outside the city in the surrounding wasteland. Among them is an enigmatic young man known as Shua (Marc Worden). He ends up in a love triangle with his childhood friend, Jay (Cathy Cavadini), and her superior, Ecoban security commander Cade (Kirk Thornton).

Oseam follows two orphans, Gami (감이) and her younger brother Gilson (길손). Gami is a gentle and reserved blind girl, while Gilson is hyperactive and often gets into mischief. The two seek refuge at a Mahayana Buddhist temple, helping with the chores, as they cope with the loss of their mother and home several years ago due to a fire accident, which is also where Gami lost her sight. Gilson, too young to understand, still believes they will find their mother someday as Gami has never told him she died in the fire. Soon later Gilson accompanies a monk to go meditate in the mountains and find a cure for his sister's blindness, but ends up sacrificing his life for Gami's sight.

In the beginning of the movie the Scissor gang are fighting some unknown gang on the rooftop. But however during the fight she falls from the top of the building. Due to a lucky break, the fall doesn't kill her, but it does cause her to suffer amnesia. Luckily for Eun-jin, she's found by Choi Yoon-jae (Park Jun-gyu), the kindly owner of a small-scale Chinese restaurant. She worked as a delivery girl under the name of Tsu Tsu. She tries several times to regain her memory but fails in each attempt.
Tong-u, a plain married man in his thirties, visits Chŏnju (4 hour bus ride from Seoul) on a business trip. After endless incidents of waiting, his purpose continually frustrated, he has to spend the night in this strange place and has a disengaging encounter with a prostitute which however leaves him with 'consequences' due to a ruptured condom.
After accidentally causing the death of his partner during a hostage situation, Wu Young-min quits the police force to work for his uncle as head security of Dreampia, an immense shopping center. Dreampia is currently in the rebuilding stages as a fire destroyed parts of it five years ago. The re-opening was scheduled in a few days, until some strange murders begin to occur in the building. It seems that the victims, all employees of the mall, have committed suicide in very gruesome and unconventional ways.
Min-ah (Im Soo-jung) is a young woman who has become reserved and aloof to the world as a result of her chronic illness and deformed hand. The film quietly portrays the unconventional, yet endearing relationship between Min-ah and her mother Mi-sook (Lee Mi-sook), as well as Min-ah's development as she is befriended by the high-spirited and carefree photographer Young-jae (Kim Rae-won) who moves into their apartment complex.
