Chun-Li (春麗, also チュン・リー, Chun Rī, simplified Chinese: 春丽; traditional Chinese: 春麗; pinyin: Chūn Lì) is a fictional character in the Street Fighter series. The first female fighter of the series, she made her first appearance in 1991's Street Fighter II. In the series, she is an expert martial artist and Interpol officer who restlessly seeks revenge for the death of her father at the hands of the nefarious M. Bison, leader of the Shadaloo crime syndicate.
Since her debut, Chun-Li has become a mainstay of the franchise and one of its most popular figures, appearing in nearly all subsequent installments of the series and several Capcom spinoff games, in addition to featuring prominently in Street Fighter-related media such as two feature films, multiple anime and comic book productions, and other official series merchandise. She has earned much positive fan and critical reception for factors such as her backstory, athleticism, sex appeal, and in-game playability, in addition to being considered a trailblazer for female characters in fighting titles and in general video gaming.
She made her film debut in 1994's Street Fighter, as portrayed by Ming-na Wen.
She also appeared in Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li.
Biography
Chun-Li est née en République populaire de Chine le 1er mars 1968. Native de Chine, Chun Li est la fille de Maître Li Laotsin, elle a suivi et pratiqué avec assiduité, depuis sa plus tendre enfance, les arts martiaux. Son père, qui enseignait à l'école de Datong, une petite ville située au nord-ouest de Pékin, lui inculqua la technique du whu et de shu, ancêtre du kung fu actuellement pratiqué dans diverses écoles. Cet art, selon les écoles, assimile des techniques de combat basées sur celles de différents animaux comme le tigre ou le dragon. Mais un jour, elle retrouve son père mystérieusement assassiné dans son dojo. Elle est alors agent d'Interpol, remontant toutes les pistes, elle met finalement un nom sur son meurtrier et a décidé de détruire M. Bison, le leader de l'organisation Shadaloo et responsable de la mort de son père. Elle s'est durement entraînée au kung-Fu et au taichi en ce sens. Plus tard, elle participe au grand tournoi et espère bien venger son père. Dans la fin de l'histoire de Chun-Li sur Street Fighter 2 (arcade), on la voit se recueillir devant la tombe de son père pour lui annoncer en quelque sorte qu'elle l'a vengé.

Though Charlie is severely disfigured by the procedure, Dhalsim secretly alters his cerebral programming to maintain Charlie's humanity.
