Pattabhi Rami Reddy Tikkavarapu, (February 19, 1919 – May 6, 2006) was an Indian film screenwriter, film producer, director and poet known for his pioneering works in Telugu and Kannada parallel cinema. He has garnered three National Film Awards. He produced and directed Samskara which garnered the National Film Award for Best Feature Film and Bronze Leopard at Locarno International Film Festival (1972).

The story is about a Brahmin housewife who has to go to her in-laws house. Her Father-in-law dies. She and her husband take a bullock cart to immerse the ashes in a holy place which is the traditional Hindu custom Nimajjanam. During the journey Sharada's pallu falls down regularly revealing her feminine beauty and result is that the cart driver gets to play with her.

Dans un village, un vieillard despotique et son fils choisissent de vivre dans l'oisiveté et la misère, refusant de servir de grands propriétaires injustes et méprisants.
