Amy Holden Jones is an American screenwriter and film director. She began her career editing low-budget films, then began directing and writing. Her genres range from fun summer movies to kids movies to romance to horror.
After she won first place at the American Film Institute National Student Festival for her short film A Weekend Home (1975), Martin Scorsese, one of the judges, liked her work and offered her a job as his assistant as he directed Taxi Driver. It was there that she met her future boss, Roger Corman. Seven years later, on the set of Slumber Party Massacre, she would meet her future husband, cinematographer Michael Chapman.
Jones has stated that there are times when actors will have scenes rewritten in order to make themselves more appealing to the public, event though it may not be the best thing for the film itself.
Jones found recurring work after working on the first installment of the Beethoven film series with John Hughes - developing the characters for the 3rd, 4th and 5th editions which went straight to video.

Biography
Jones grew up in Florida and lived in Buffalo, NY during her high school years. She attended Wellesley College in Wellesley, Massachusetts, majoring in art history, so she could also take film studies courses at nearby MIT in Cambridge, Massachusetts.After she won first place at the American Film Institute National Student Festival for her short film A Weekend Home (1975), Martin Scorsese, one of the judges, liked her work and offered her a job as his assistant as he directed Taxi Driver. It was there that she met her future boss, Roger Corman. Seven years later, on the set of Slumber Party Massacre, she would meet her future husband, cinematographer Michael Chapman.

Jessie Montgomery (Ally Sheedy) is a spoiled rich girl whose hard partying life style and lack of self-respect as well as a lack of respect for others. The movie starts with a dad checking on his two kids before school. The movie takes place a few years after the events of the second film and the event at the mountains. The Newton family is on a cross country vacation in the USA to join a Newton family reunion in California, and in an unexplained move, Beethoven must travel there with George's brother Richard (Judge Reinhold) and his family of a nagging wife Beth (Julia Sweeney) and two bratty kids Sara (Michaela Gallo) and Brennan (Joe Pichler) as they hit the road to California in a huge, shiny and expensive RV, equipped with a DVD player. Following them are two bumbling criminals who have hidden some secret codes on a DVD that they figure no one in the world will buy (The Shakiest Gun in the West), but someone does: Richard. So now they've got a DVD holding top secret information and the criminals must get it back. They are not only in trouble with the criminals but with Beethoven also. But after he saves Sara from the criminals the family becomes very sad knowing they have to give him back. After they get to California they find out from Richard's Uncle Morrie that George, Alice, and the kids will not be coming because of business reasons in Botswana which means they need to extend their visit for another year and will have to watch Beethoven longer which made everyone happy.
