He is best known for creating the Friday the 13th series of horror films, which introduced the fictional killer Jason Voorhees. Of the 12 films in the series, the ones that had Sean's involvement were the original and its remake, Jason Goes to Hell: The Final Friday, Jason X, and Freddy vs. Jason. He has also produced many horror films, such as the House series and Wes Craven's debut feature, The Last House on the Left.

Sid, the Sloth, takes a school of children out on a camping trip from home, only to find that he is not a very good guide and the children are bored. In a cameo appearance, Scrat has swallowed his acorn and is struggling to keep it down. He coughs it up and it is stolen from him. The camping trip leaves some of the children somewhat traumatized. Sid tries to pick a flower, but somehow this has led to a tree falling, which then hits a rock, which causes a chain reaction and hits a series of larger rocks, until eventually hitting a large iceberg. The iceberg then carves out a u-shaped valley, which Sid later names the Grand Canyon. Afterwards the kids get so annoyed with Sid that it ends with them tying him up. Many years later on present day, it shows a father and son beaver looking over the Grand Canyon with the son asking who made it. The father replies "Nature or a being with infinite wisdom.

DeepStar Six is a prototype deep-sea colony funded by the United States Navy with a collection of 11 military and civilian crew members in the last week of their six month tour. The brainchild of Dr. Van Gelder, the base is allowed to conduct its experiment on underwater colonization provided that he also oversee the installation of a nuclear missile storage platform nearby. Nearing the last days of his deadline, Van Gelder's plans are threatened when geologist Burciaga (Elya Baskin) discovers a massive cavern system at the installation site. Van Gelder orders the submarine crew to use depth charges to collapse the cavern, to the dismay of Dr. Scarpelli (Nia Peeples), who wants to preserve the cavern to study the potentially primordial ecosystem she suspects lies inside.
