Andrij Parekh (born September 20, 1971) is an American cinematographer.
Parekh was born in Cambridge, Massachusetts of Ukrainian and Indian (Gujarati) descent. Andrij studied cinematography at NYU's Tisch School of the Arts (MFA, 2001) and the FAMU film school in Prague. He currently lives and works in New York City, shooting features and music videos. In 2004 he was named one of Filmmaker Magazine's "25 New Faces of Indie Film". Recently, he was included as one off Variety Magazine's "Ten Cinematographers to Watch".

The film starts in the present and in flashbacks looks at how Cindy and Dean met each other. Dean is a young high school dropout, working for a New York City moving company. Cindy is a pre-med student living with her constantly fighting parents and also caring for her grandmother in Pennsylvania. Cindy and Dean meet at Cindy's grandmother's nursing home while Dean is delivering a new resident's furniture. They begin to date. Cindy discovers she is pregnant, and tells Dean that the baby is most likely not his, as her previous boyfriend Bobby ejaculated during intercourse without the use of protection. Dean asks Cindy whether or not she wants to keep the baby. After contemplating suicide by jumping off the Brooklyn Bridge, 15-year-old Craig Gilner (Keir Gilchrist), decides to go to the hospital to seek help. Craig tells Dr. Mahmoud (Aasif Mandvi) that he needs immediate help to which Dr. Mahmoud registers Craig for a one week stay in the hospital's psychiatric floor. It is revealed that Craig has a lot of pressure at his high school, Executive Pre-Professional (based on Manhattan's Stuyvesant High School), stressing over the need to turn in an application for a prestigious summer school, his shortcomings in the shadow of his best friend, Aaron (Thomas Mann), whom he considers to be great at everything, and his dad who pressures him to do well. At first, Craig is uncertain if he made the right choice to stay, mostly due to the fact that his friends might find out when he misses school, especially Nia (Zoë Kravitz), his crush and Aaron's girlfriend. David Owen, a New York lawyer, is constantly plagued by noise, particularly car alarms, but also burglar alarms and backup beepers.
