Austin Taylor O'Brien (born May 11, 1981) is an American actor and photographer. He may be best known for playing the co-lead Danny Madigan in the Arnold Schwarzenegger-movie Last Action Hero, followed by his turn into romance as Nick Zsigmond in My Girl 2, a part in both The Lawnmower Man and its sequel. and as Josh Greene in CBS Drama Promised Land.

O'Brien was born in Eugene, Oregon, to Valerie and Dan O'Brien. His elder sister is actress Amanda O'Brien and his younger brother is actor Trever O'Brien.

He is married to Kristin Wurgler.

He attended the wedding of Victor and Brandi Quintanilla who were married at Calvary Christian Center in Yuba City, CA.

Danny Madigan is a teenage boy living in a crime-ridden area of New York City with his widowed mother Irene. Prehysteria! tells the story of Rico Sarno, a museum curator, who enters a forbidden temple in South America, and discovers a nest of five eggs. He steals them and brings them back to his museum. Frank Taylor (Brett Cullen), a farmer, sells fossils to Rico and in a mix up, the Taylor's dog takes a cooler, which has the eggs. The kids, Monica (Samantha Mills) and Jerry (Austin O'Brien) discover the dinosaurs when they hatch and try to keep it a secret, until their father finds out. Vicki (Colleen Morris), a woman who works for Rico, sees the dinosaurs, she tells the Taylors not to give them back to Rico because he will expose them. Rico finds out the Taylors have them and hires two robbers to help him get the dinosaurs back.
