Jeffrey David "Jeff" Fahey (born November 29, 1952) is an American film and television actor. He has portrayed Captain Frank Lapidus on the ABC series Lost and the title role of Deputy Marshal Winston MacBride on The Marshal.

Biography

Jeunesse
Fahey est né à Buffalo, New York, le sixième de 13 frères et sœurs. Sa mère, Jane, était une femme au foyer, et son père, Frank Fahey, a travaillé dans un magasin de vêtements. Jeff a été élevé à Buffalo, New York. Il quitte la maison à l'âge de 17 ans et fait de l'auto-stop qui l'amènera en Europe, il travaille en Israël



Carrière
Fahey a commencé à jouer lorsqu'il a gagné une bourse d'études, en dansant à la Joffrey Ballet School à l'âge de 25 ans.

En 1985, il a obtenu son premier grand rôle au cinéma, en jouant "Tyree" dans Silverado. En 1986, il a joué dans Psycho III dans le rôle de Duane duc, un guitariste désespéré. Cette même année, Fahey est en guest star sur Miami Vice Saison 3.

Il a joué "Thorold Stone" dans le film Révélation. Plus tard il jouera aux côtés de Pierce Brosnan dans Le cobaye.

En 1990, il joue aux côtés de Marisa Tomei dans Parker Kane et Clint Eastwood dans Chasseur blanc, cœur noir. En 1995, il joue le rôle de "Winston McBride" sur American Broadcasting Company Le maréchal. Il est apparu dans le Robert Rodriguez, Planet Terror. En 2007, il a joué dans Messages avec Bruce Payne.

Fahey est apparu comme casse-cou dans un épisode de Psych au début de la troisième saison de l'émission.

Fahey a joué un personnage récurrent, Frank Lapidus, pilote d'avion et pilote d'hélicoptère pour l'équipe de recherche envoyée sur une l'île dans Lost (saison 4 et 5), et en tant que personnage régulier pour la sixième saison.

En 2010, il a joué un rôle majeur dans le film d'action de Robert Rodriguez "Machete".

En 2013, une nouvelle production de la pièce classique "Douze hommes en colère" a eu lieu à Londres, jusqu'en mars 2014. Fahey a joué le rôle du dernier juré. D'autres acteurs notables apparaissent dans cette production (Martin Shaw joue le juré numéro 8 (un rôle rendu célèbre dans le film 1957 par Henry Fonda, Robert Vaughn et Nick Moran.


Les efforts humanitaires
En 2006 et 2007 Fahey passe du temps en Afghanistan pour aider à l'Université américaine d'Afghanistan, et au lancement d'un projet visant à aider les orphelins de Kaboul.

Le travail humanitaire de Jeff Fahey a tourné autour du Comité américain pour les réfugiés et les immigrants, dans lequel il a mis l'accent sur le sujet de l'entreposage, une pratique dans laquelle les droits et la mobilité des réfugiés est limitée par un pays d'accueil.

L'an 2563, 300 ans après que la Terre a connu une catastrophe appelée "l'effondrement" consécutive à une guerre contre Mars. Ido trouve le corps d'une cyborg en piteux état. Il va alors la ramener dans sa clinique pour la réparer. La jeune cyborg se réveille, réparée mais amnésique. Le docteur Ido la rebaptise Alita (du prénom de sa fille décédée) et lui fait découvrir le monde dans lequel ils survivent. Mais Alita se découvre des réflexes combatifs et une force surhumaine, veut toujours en savoir plus et aller plus loin. Elle fait la connaissance d'Hugo, un jeune revendeur de pièces détachées auquel elle se lie rapidement. Alita va tenter de comprendre qui elle est réellement et d'où elle vient. Elle croise la route du terrible Vector, qui contrôle les matches du sport ultra-populaire de la ville, le Motorball.

The film opens with an apparent terrorist attack involving a nuclear device which destroys New York City killing 9 million people. The perpetrator, Benjamin Rourke, a Nobel prize winning physicist, had become embittered by the death of his wife, and had devised a means to travel in time; he had engineered the bomb plot to force the US Government to build his machine in order to send agents back to prevent the disaster happening. He had also arranged matters that the only way to do this was to have them prevent his wife's death. The story describes the process of the team, CIA agents Sean Knox and Danny Gates, and scientist Lyndsay Bryce, arriving at this conclusion and their efforts to achieve this without doing too much damage/damaging to the time-line.

The Stranger, a tall striking creature dressed in white sets into motions a series of events whilst reciting the Edgar Allan Poe's poem "Eldorado", which will have an effect on those heading towards the mythical city. The evening was going to be a normal Blues Brothers tribute gig for Oliver and Stanley Rosenblum, The Jews Brothers at a local Bar Mitzvah, but things were not going to go to plan for Stan and Ollie. After being wrongly sent to entertain the annual conference of Neo Nazi's instead of the stripper, which was sent to the Bar Mitzvah by their inept Manager JJ. The Jews Brothers are chased out of town by the head of the Californian Chapter of Neo Nazi's General Zwick, and after contacting their agent JJ who makes amends for the mix up by sending the boys and the stripper Lesley Dean to do a show at the Eldorado Festival.

Fish (Noah Hathaway) has been recently released from prison where he was serving time for his part in a diamond heist. He refused to give the authorities any information on his partners in crime nor reveal to them the location of the stolen diamonds. In rural Texas, go-go dancer Cherry Darling (Rose McGowan) decides to quit her low-paying job and find another occupation.
