Charles Noland is an American actor, appearing in over 100 different films and television episodes with recurring roles on The West Wing (7 Seasons) and ER (2 Seasons). Noland received two Screen Actors Guild Awards for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama “ER” for both 1996 and 1997.
Noland also has a lengthy stage career in both acting and directing, including work at The Oregon Shakespeare Festival in Ashland, A Contemporary Theatre in Seattle, Kern Shakespeare Festival in Bakersfield, Fort Worth Shakespeare, and Incline, The Theatre Group in Los Angeles.
Nolan studied drama at the University of California, Davis and University of California, Santa Cruz.

When Nicola Anders (Winona Ryder), the star of out-of-favor director Viktor Taransky's (Al Pacino) new film refuses to finish it, Taransky is forced to find a replacement. Contractual requirements totally prevent using her image in the film, so he must re-shoot. Instead, Viktor experiments with a new computer program he inherits from late acquaintance Hank Aleno (Elias Koteas) which allows creation of a computer-generated woman which he can easily animate to play the film's central character. Viktor names his virtual actor "Simone", a name derived from the computer program's title, Simulation One. Seamlessly incorporated into the film, Simone (Rachel Roberts) gives a fantastic performance, exactly controlled by Viktor. The film is immediately a huge success.

The movie begins on May 14, also known as Rock 'n' Roll High School day at Ronald Reagan High. The students decide to play a prank on the faculty of the staff, flushing all of the toilets in unison and causing the faulty pipes to burst (yet again), causing for widespread mayhem in the school, as other students leave their classrooms and run rampant down the hall with the perpetrators who organized the entire thing: four members of the band known as The Eradicators. In Hollywood in the late 1920s during the waning days of the industry's transition to sound film, producer and studio head Alfie Alperin wants to produce a great Western movie about Wyatt Earp. Tom Mix is cast as the great United States Marshal and the real Earp is on set as a technical adviser. But while Earp and Mix are involved in their movie adventure, they also get caught up in a real case of murder, prostitution, and corruption. Together they try to straighten out the problems of the missing son of Earp's former girlfriend, Christina. She is now the wife of studio boss Alfie Alperin and he isn't amused by Earp's investigations. Alfie's sister Victoria Alperin is dating a notorious mobster and all three were at the scene of the murder of madam Candice Gerard. Soon Earp unveils the true sadistic character of Alfie Alperin. Mix and Earp get to fight a real gunfight at a real isolated ranch, with Mix telling Earp "I wish there was a camera here" before drawing a real gun.
