Christiane Dorst (née le 14 août 1939 à Babelsberg) est une costumière et scénographe allemande.

Biography

De 1957 à 1962, elle étudie la scénographie à l'école des beaux-arts de Berlin-Weißensee. De 1962 à 1968, elle est costumière et scénographe au Hans Otto Theater à Potsdam et conçoit pour cinquante productions les décors et les costumes. De 1968 à 1970, elle fait principalement les costumes du théâtre de Leipzig.

En 1970, elle travaille pour la DEFA en tant que costumière. Elle collabore deux fois avec le réalisateur ouest-allemand Peter Schamoni sur Frühlingssinfonie et Caspar David Friedrich – Grenzen der Zeit.

En 1990, elle prend la direction des costumes et des masques des studios de Babelsberg.

Daniel Brenner is an architect in his late thirties. Despite a top university degree, he has to spend his professional life with bus shelters and telephone booths. Then he receives the appealing commission to design a cultural center for a satellite town. Brenner accepts under the condition that he will be allowed to select his own team. Their plan to create a non-conventional construction fails. His wife and their common daughter leave the country for West Germany. Broken and desillusioned, Brenner collapses in front of the project’s inauguration tribune.

Margit Fließer (Jutta Hoffmann) is in her mid-thirties, has two children and has been divorced twice. She works as a mathematician in a medium-sized company where she is well respected by her colleagues. Margit has a shy and repressed personality due to her past and her childhood. Margit became a nurse in a Protestant order following the early death of her mother. Realizing that this vocation is not really for her she starts her studies at a university preparatory school. She falls in love with the lecturer Bachmann (Peter Köhncke), who becomes her first husband. The marriage fails, and she enters a second marriage with a blind man (Armin Mueller-Stahl). But her new husband is a disappointment and this second marriage also fails. She now decides to find "her third" husband herself and not leaving it up to fate. She chooses Hrdlitschka (Rolf Ludwig), a colleague, but only after some efforts and with the help of her friend Lucie (Barbara Dittus) she is successful and wins Hrdlitschka as her third husband.
