Christophe Gans (born 11 March 1960 in Antibes, France) is a French film director, writer, and producer who specializes in horror, fantasy movies and video game adaptations.
His $29 million-budgeted film Brotherhood of the Wolf was a worldwide success, grossing over $70 million+ in theaters worldwide; it also became the second-highest-grossing French-language film in the United States since 1980.
He went on to create his "labor of love", the video game adaptation Silent Hill.

Biography
As a teenager, he spent much time creating kung fu-themed Super 8 movies with his friends. He later went on to attend the French film school Idhec, where he created his first short film, Silver Slime. He later spent time as a film critic before co-directing his first film, Necronomicon.His $29 million-budgeted film Brotherhood of the Wolf was a worldwide success, grossing over $70 million+ in theaters worldwide; it also became the second-highest-grossing French-language film in the United States since 1980.
He went on to create his "labor of love", the video game adaptation Silent Hill.

In France, 1810, a widowed merchant (André Dussollier) is forced to sell his town house and many of his belongings after his ships are lost at sea, leaving him bankrupt. He moves to a simple house in the countryside with his six children, though the only one happy with the change is his youngest daughter, Belle (Léa Seydoux). One day news arrives that one of the merchant's ships is intact, so he and his eldest son return to town in the hopes of collecting the goods that will restore their wealth. However, the goods are seized by the local authorities, and the merchant is forced to flee into the forest when Perducas (Eduardo Noriega) threatens to harm him over his son's debts.

Rose and her husband, Christopher Da Silva, are concerned about their adopted daughter, 9-year old Sharon, who has been sleepwalking while calling the name of a town, "Silent Hill". Desperate for answers, Rose takes Sharon to Silent Hill. As they approach the town, she is pursued by police officer Cybil Bennett, who has become suspicious of Rose's motives after witnessing Sharon panic at a gas station when her drawings are mysteriously vandalized. A mysterious child appears in the road, causing Rose to swerve and crash the car, knocking herself unconscious. When she awakens, Sharon is missing, while fog and falling ash blanket the town.

In 1958, Anna Jurin, a young cleaning woman, is sent to spruce up the abandoned St. Ange orphanage in the French Alps region. In fact, she has been sent there because she is pregnant, but she keeps this a secret from others. She then discovers that Judith is the only orphan who still lives there, a young woman who acts like a child, locked up in her own memories. As she begins her cleaning duties, Anna begins to experience strange things such as hearing the footsteps and voices of children down the hallways. Meanwhile, her co-worker, a cook named Helenka, does not hear a thing, and begins to worry about Anna's state of mind.
