Clemens Hasse (13 April 1908 – 28 July 1959) was a German actor and synchroniser.

Biography

Hasse was born in Königsberg, East Prussia to a public official and attended his stage education at the Preussisches Staatstheater in Berlin. Between 1929 and 1944, when the Theater was closed down, he was a constant member of the Staatstheater ensemble.

Hasse first appeared in a UFA movie in 1932 and acted in several movies next to popular stars like Heinz Rühmann or Hans Albers. He was the German dubbing voice of Eddie Albert, Lou Costello, José Ferrer, Oliver Hardy, Sid James and also the voice of the white rabbit in Disneys Alice in Wonderland.

After World War II Hasse worked at the Schlosspark-Theater Berlin and after 1951 at the Schillertheater. He died of a heart attack at New York City on the occasion of his daughter's marriage and is buried at Waldfriedhof Dahlem in Berlin.

The title refers to the Feuerzangenbowle punch consumed by a group of gentlemen in the opening scene. While exchanging nostalgic stories about their schooldays, the successful young writer Dr. Johannes Pfeiffer realizes he missed out on something because he was taught at home and never attended school. He decides to make up for it by masquerading as a student at a small town high school and quickly gains a reputation as a prankster. Together with his classmates, he torments his professors Crey, Bömmel and Headmaster Knauer with adolescent mischief. His girlfriend Marion unsuccessfully tries to persuade him to give up his foolish charade. Eventually, he falls in love with the headmaster’s daughter and discloses his identity after provoking the teachers into expelling him from school.

Elisabeth (Kristina Söderbaum) falls in love with Reinhardt (Carl Raddatz), but he leaves their native village to study music, travel the world and build his career as a composer. His most important compositions are inspired by his love for her, Twelve Songs of Elisabeth and Seerosen (water lilies, the couple's special flower), but after she visits him on the day of his final examination at the conservatoire and finds a strange woman asleep in his bed, Elisabeth marries Erich (Paul Klinger), the wealthy heir to the estate of Immensee. Reinhardt returns to win her back, and Erich releases her, telling her that all that he wants is for her to be happy. This causes Elisabeth to realise what love really means and she tells Erich for the first time that she loves him, and remains with him. In the frame story, many years have passed, Erich is dead and Elisabeth and Reinhardt, who is now a renowned composer, meet for tea at his hotel after a performance of his Seerosen; at the end of the film, she tells him she will remain true to Erich and to Immensee, and he leaves for the last time.

Renate Heiberg vit à Wasserburg am Inn et rêve de devenir photographe. Un jour, un pilote italien fait un atterrissage d'urgence. Renate saisit la chance, elle fait des photos. Le correspondant Rolf Bergmann la met en contact avec un journal de Berlin qui lui achète ses photos. Elles paraissent en une, Renate gagne 600 reichsmarks. Encouragée, la jeune femme s'en va vivre à Berlin et essaie d'obtenir un emploi avec plusieurs journaux. Mais elle essuie des refus. Seul le Berolina-Press l'engage. Seulement la première commande de Renate est un échec ; à cause d'un malentendu, les photos d'une course cycliste arrivent trop tard à la rédaction et ne correspondent plus aux exigences de la rédaction. Renate est renvoyé, puis elle rencontre son collègue Klaus Nolte, qui a déjà une réputation. Il soutient Renate et lui trouve un appartement.

The short film (48 minutes) opens aboard a U-boat as it returns from a mission. It then follows the crew onshore the day before they ship off for their next mission—meeting their family and sweethearts, spending a last night at a club, and so forth. Then they ship off, soon sighting and boarding a Dutch merchant ship, which they inspect for contraband. The boarding of the ship is shown being done professionally and in a non-confrontational manner. While they are aboard the Dutch ship, a Royal Navy ship spots them and tries to torpedo them, but the U-boat ends up sinking it.

Elske faithfully loves her husband Endrik as he is seduced by a foreign schemer, Madlyn. Madlyn persuades him to murder Elske and run off with her. He lures Elske into the boat as a prelude to drowning her, but is unable to carry it out. When they reach the shore, she flees to the city, and he follows to plead for forgiveness. They return, and a storm blows up while they are in the boat. Endrik gets ashore, but believes Elske to have drowned. He reacts with anger to Madlyn, but learns that Elske did survive.

Hector un jeune fat et le marquis d'Aubigné, qui fait partie du cercle de Ninon de l'Enclos font le défi d'embrasser Nanon. Le marquis d'Aubigné se fait passer pour un tambour de la garde et chante une sérénade à la belle qui est conquise... Tellement conquise, qu'elle décide de l'épouser et fait venir sa parentèle. Le faux tambour ne peut que fuir avec la complicité de soldats qui font mine de l'arrêter pour s'être prétendument battu en duel. Or le roi vient de signer un édit interdisant le duel sous peine de prison.
