Damon Laurence Lindelof (born April 24, 1973) is an American television writer, producer, and film screenwriter, most noted as the co-creator and showrunner of the acclaimed television series Lost (2004–2010). He has written for and produced Crossing Jordan (2001–2004) and wrote for Nash Bridges (2000–2001). Lindelof also co-wrote Cowboys & Aliens (2011), Prometheus (2012), and Star Trek Into Darkness (2013). As of December 2012, his next film in development is the science fiction film Tomorrowland (2015). He is also co-creating the upcoming TV series The Leftovers for HBO, adapted from the novel by Tom Perrotta.

Biography

Lindelof est né à Teanect dans le New Jersey ; il est le fils de Susan Klausner, enseignante, et de David Lindelof, gérant de banque. Il est allé à Teaneck High School , une école dont il crédite le corps étudiant hétérogène d'avoir étendu son horizon en tant qu'auteur. Sa mère est juive et son père avait des origines scandinaves. The story begins with an adult Frank Walker telling an off-screen audience about his attendance at the 1964 New York World's Fair as a child. In the flashback, he meets David Nix, an official who is unimpressed with Frank's limited jet pack. Frank does draw the attention of a young girl named Athena. Seeing his potential, Athena gives Frank a pin embossed with a "T" symbol and tells him to follow her aboard the fair's "It's a Small World" attraction. Frank sneaks onto the ride, where his pin is scanned and he is transported into a futuristic cityscape known as Tomorrowland. He falls from a ledge, but straps on his jet pack and lands safely before Nix and Athena.

Four years after Kirk's promotion in 2259, the starship USS Enterprise studies a primitive culture on the planet Nibiru. Captain James T. Kirk and his First Officer, Commander Spock, save the planet's inhabitants from an extinction-threatening volcanic eruption, but Kirk violates the Prime Directive, exposing the Enterprise to the native inhabitants to save Spock's life. Returning to Earth, Kirk loses command of the Enterprise and Admiral Christopher Pike is reinstated as its commanding officer with Kirk demoted to first officer and the rank of Commander. For his part in the incident, Spock is reassigned to another ship. An officers' meeting is called to discuss the bombing of a Section 31 installation in London perpetrated by the renegade Starfleet operative John Harrison (Cumberbatch). Harrison attacks the meeting in a jumpship, killing Pike. Kirk disables the jumpship, but Harrison uses a portable transporter to escape to Kronos, the homeworld of hostile aliens known as Klingons.

A zombie outbreak erupts in metropolitan areas around the world; those bitten by the creatures become zombies themselves within twelve seconds. Retired UN investigator Gerry Lane, his wife Karen, and their two daughters manage to escape the outbreak in Philadelphia and take shelter with a family in Newark while waiting for special evacuation the next day, thanks to Gerry's friend UN Deputy Secretary-General Thierry Umuntoni. They find a shelter for the night while waiting for a rescue helicopter. Their hosts choose not to accompany them when they flee the next day, and are subsequently bitten and changed by zombies. Their son, Tommy, manages to escape, and Gerry's family takes him in. They are flown to an offshore U.S. Navy carrier group near New York where Umuntoni is overseeing the remaining worldwide governments' reactions.

In 1873, New Mexico Territory, an unnamed loner (Daniel Craig) wakes up in the desert being injured with no memory and with a strange metal object on his wrist. After killing three drifters who think he might be worth bounty money, he takes their clothes, weapons and a horse. He wanders into the small town of Absolution where the local preacher Meacham (Clancy Brown) treats his wound. After the stranger subdues Percy Dolarhyde (Paul Dano), a volatile drunk who has been terrorizing the town, Sheriff Taggart (Keith Carradine) recognizes the stranger as Jake Lonergan, a wanted outlaw, and attempts to arrest him. Jake beats up the posse sent to take him in and nearly escapes, but a mysterious woman named Ella Swenson (Olivia Wilde) knocks him out. Taggart prepares to transport both Jake and Percy to Santa Fe for trial.

In the 23rd century, the Federation starship USS Kelvin is investigating a "lightning storm" in space. A Romulan ship, the Narada, emerges from the storm and attacks the Kelvin. Narada‍ '​s first officer, Ayel, demands that the Kelvin‍ '​s Captain Robau come aboard to negotiate a truce.
